Really like the commandant with swag, but thirteen bucks shipping for a single mini? Yikes!

That is $13 shipping for an entire order. This is part of the reason I am getting out of the business. I'm not interested anymore in invoicing, packing, and boxing single figure orders unless my time is adequately compensated.

Oh! Oh, ho, ho! I see what you did there. You started off like you were sympathetic to a business having a specific shipping policy in place, but then you flipped it and took a swipe at the business instead. Well done, sir.

Because, we all know having a minimum shipping and handling charge for orders is something completely out of left field for online commerce. MegaMinis is just a crooked organization for even attempting to levy such a tax on it's customers, right?

If you have never run an online business then you are unaware the resources shipping product actually consumes. There is a cost involved in prepping each package and it isn't unreasonable for a business to want to recoup that cost. Which leaves the customer free to shop elsewhere, or perhaps find a friend or two to add to the order and make the shipping price more palatable.

Yeah having a set del amount is fine. But the whole i cant be F'd to deal with you attitude really isn't on and from a customer point of you really tells about why a company may be having problems.
Something along the lines of. .. Hey yeah sorry about that but with the riseing cost of postage we have had to use the blanket delivery amount but dont forget the more you order the cheeper the postage works out!

See wasnt hard was it?

You're reading far more attitude into that comment than was actually there.

Welcome to the Internets

Not every site is 4chan, and being on "the internets" isn't an excuse to be a donkey cave.

And with that I am out of here. MegaMinis is trying to wind down their business and I don't want to help derail that effort any more than I may have by feeding trolls in this thread.

Im not sure how expecting a business not to be sarcastic or snarky is being a troll? If you went into a store and the assistant said "you need to buy more than that or i wont serve you " would you except that? theres a growing trend of internet sellers feeling they can be rude to customers and because it's not face to face it's ok.

Anywho some great minis in the range. Some have great character and would be great for judge dredd or rouge trader. But i think i will wait till someone else buys the molds. ..hopefully they will welcome customers.

Shipping is still $7 to the USA, just as FYI for those reading the thread. I thought it had gone up from what was written above.

It's $7 for Americans, it's $13 for the rest of the world.

Except that's not what was happening here. He was simply pointing out that the issues with packing and shipping single-miniature orders are one of the reasons that he is shutting up shop, not that he wouldn't serve anyone who placed such an order.

Now can we all just try to get on with our lives?

Wait ? The Rest Of The World Matters

That being said....

I've ordered from Mega Minis multiple times over it's 12 years and it's always been a pleasant experience.

If it's not worth his time invested then why do it ? I can understand his frusteration and why he's closing up shop.

Possible remedies to that situation could have included:
1.) Minimum Order Amount. I've told people if we're not exchanging at least $20 worth of stuff it's not worth my time driving to the post office. I'd understand and respect a similar policy.
2.) Handling fee. Mega Minis offers inexpensive miniatures. Padding the minimum shipping to include a few dollars compensation wouldn't be outrageous. Not my first choice, but a $5 handling fee for orders under $20 would probably encourage people to order larger quantities or not order that single figure order. Both are a win.
3.) Higher Prices No one's going to love this choice, but the problem with the equation may simply be he's not charging enough to make enough profit to be worth his time. I've seen plenty of small buissinesses do this and then close shop. Hell, I've done it myself.
