Very cool stuff.
The clamp tank and the assault humans climbing up a rope are going to get some player hit for scratching their opponent's models.

Nice Vid...
Still no 'true-scale' 15mm fig in comparison. Such a shame... but as for the tanks and tripods, it just makes me want them more!
The rules are looking pretty cool too... a bit on the simplistic side but at least you can do bigger games with that, and I can still imagine it being a very tactical game. It will probably be more enjoyable than FoW's constant bailed-out vehicles. The damage chart on the tripods, can potentially introduce a lot of randomness to the game... anyone remember 5th ed 40k where you could shoot at a rhino all day, but never destroy it due to damage chart results?
But I think the D10 system might alleviate that, as long as each (or the great majority) of the damage results somehow lowers the martian's defense and makes it easier to kill somehow... I got that idea from the vid.

Guys if you haven't looked at this game lately please do! The minis are great and the new stretch goals are filled with freebies to help your alliance. There are also better entry levels for those that don't want to spend as much to start. There are also 2 gaming videos with more coming.

They just posted one of the free unlocks at the $150K goal(which the KS is fast approaching): The "Red Martian" character tripod. They haven't previewed it yet, but unlocking at the same time is Patton's Monitor Tank for the human side.
Awesome stuff, and keeps looking better and better. Hope some more of you Dakkaites get onboard...I think it's going to be a lot of fun.

Though I'm more of a Fantasy/ swordnsorcery sort, I've totally fallen in love with this game project! Latest great announcement that I heard was the inclusion of characters/famous units. Rumor of the mighty Land Ironclad 'Thunderchild II' is afoot, and I'm definitely getting one!

I'll admit... after a rough start, this Kickstarter is really improving, and slowly starting to tempt with more value.
I'm considering giving it $300-400, but it'll depend on goals, and, unfortunately, it and Deadzone alike have to compete for my money right now. Either would've been an easy $500 if they were running concurrently. Automatically Appended Next Post: Incidentally, does On-the-Front, offer any added value over going "Full Assault" and just adding on pieces? Unless i'm missing something, they price out to be the exact same?
Is there a reason both pledges get identical stretch-goals? You'd think going say, $470 would get you more than going $260.

There are basically three tiers of stretch goal rewards. So, Full Assault, On the Front and All Out War all share the top tier rewards, they just get different amounts of stuff in their individual pledge levels.
Just did the math, and based on the Kickstarter Addon costs, you save an additional $34 by upgrading from Full Assault to On The Front.
By the way, AD just posted a preview for the Patton Mark IV Monitor tank, a stretch goal reward that unlocks at $150K:

Excuse me.... 10 inch gun???? How BIG is this model? :-p
Yes, I realize (assume) they're talking about barrel diameter. :-p
Still... these are supposed to be freebies for higher pledgers, yeah? (This and Red Martian)
Considering the extra goodies i'm going to get from pre-Kickstarter bonuses, etc... this really is starting to shape up for me. I think i'll probably just go "Full Assault" though, and cherry-pick another $100 or so of add-ons. I loath the assault-troops, and just don't want them. Somehow, the painter in me recoils at the notion of scraping little "hooks" against other painted models. :-p

This creator Q&A session has been absolutely amazing. I wish some... bigger... productions would have such open, and candid discussion on everything from value, to production, to rules, etc....
On the strength of this community interaction alone i've thrown in for $360... Good showing guys. I really, really hope this KS catches fire as I wish I could see the product we would all be getting come $500k, and upwards...
Incidentally, as a former cynic... I encourage others to check out the value proposition again. It has grown/improved CONSIDERABLY in the last week and a half.

Anyone remember those old War of the Worlds comics from Marvel? I've always loved Killraven. Automatically Appended Next Post: As we close in on the $150K landmark, Alien Dungeon just dangled a nice carrot in front of our noses...free gubbins(helmets, tarps, machine guns, etc) for all pledges if we manage to hit $150K by the end of the weekend. So get pledging!

Well, and more-so, some very nice, big models, and several smaller/infantry models as stretch-goals. By my estimation, higher pledges, all at once, are about to get another $40-60 or so in freebies.

Yeah... I really wish I could do more to help encourage Dakka-members to give this one another hard look...
... seriously, I get it. Looking back on this very thread, I was amongst the harshest critics. That said, the project barely resembles its earliest days, and at higher levels, freebies are starting to equal paid content.
I'm currently in at On the Front (iirc... its the $360 level), and that plus freebies is already at a level which fields two HUGE armies. I'm very impressed. Likewise, the criticism of there being no good, cheaper two player entry level is gone thanks to some great mid-sized pledge levels which they added.
And heck... not that i'm endorsing this, but at the very least, their trenches/terrain bits look amazing, and are being re-scaled to fit Flames of War bases.... so at the least, fans of that game might get a lot of cool stuff if they threw $100 at a batch of those.

Yep... and $175k stands to be equally impressive. Once again, if we get there (which is safe to say, considering we did $30k in the last two days), upper-level pledges will again get another $30 or so in freebies.
Plus... there seem to be a LOT of stretch-goals left unannounced. If the pace is roughly similar, we should end up with tons and tons more in our pledges... PLUS, AD mentioned during their Q&A, that if we hit higher pledging over-all, more models could be done in hard-plastic, with the savings being passed on to backers.
Come on folks... Keep hyping this one. Its a bit of a battle against some of the heavier hitters who can throw more at their respective KS'ers, but man.... i've yet to see a company as responsive as AD to its fans.
Guess what? Earlier a story made the rounds that AD hated a model which was sent to them for approval. Know what they did? They REFUSED it, and sent it back for a full resculpt. Crazy response huh? ;-)

Woot Woot for the 150K perks!
If we make 175K, which is looking highly probable, I'm going to be incredibly blown away with what we'll receive and this KS will rival any of the other generous companies. And as stated, their response and approachability is second to none.
Recently they made a mistake on model count for several pledge levels, only by a slight bit of wording and it's obviously a simple error that a responder noticed. Instead of retracting the statement and back-pedaling, they are honoring their initial offering and wording by adding in the extra non-intended models for free -- which are a generous amount of extra infantry stands.
and they are keeping it that way for new pledgers too. My crew and I are going to be gaming until dawn for days when this box hits our doorsteps.
more plastics for tanks and the like would be great. Friends of mine in the area are starting to jump in, and some of them are "one game guys" up until this point. I'm digging out and touching up my 15mm terrain next month, although I will have to pick up some of their really nice trenches. Good times.
