Not sure why you would think it wasn't 15mm. These are giant alien warmachines :-)

The tripods aren't 15mm tall, the infantry are.

Yes I know that, you silly I mean, the size I'd imagine a martian tripod at 15mm scale to be.

Great Q&A session as always. Seems the British faction is looking very "Elite" in so far as their weapons are better than the US, their vehicles faster, etc.... though I imagine when points values shake-out, they'll field smaller forces in general.

They're also described as Veteran Martian fighters, having already been in the fight for some time.

Further items of note... even their infantry will be elite-armored soldiers.

BTW here's a couple more teaser pics for the BEF. I kind of skimmed the Q&A this morning, so please correct me if I'm wrong...but Alien Dungeon is promising a full reveal(and pledge availability? Not sure on this one) at $200K.

Also, from last night's Q&A, a very nice take-away was AD's head-honcho essentially confirming that post-KS additions to your pledge would be possible, in some form, for a couple of months or so.

Considering the obscene amount of cool stuff that keeps dripping into the game, this makes me very, very happy. I don't think i've ever seen a Kickstarter for a new game system that was already so fully envisioned, before it went live. I mean, the highest tiers of pledges give you piles of value, and yet there are still sooooo many unique models/units/terrain pieces etc... I can't believe that i'm in for almost $500, and still wish I could throw in more.

Speaking of obscene cool stuff, here's the Thunderchild II "Benedict Arnold"-class land ironclad, for the BEF:

Oh God... the Benedict Arnold looks sooooo good. I thought i'd maxed out my pledge at $470, thanks to some lucky Zombicide Promo sales.... now selling my much loved X-wing collection seems to be netting me another $300 or so, which can get eaten up very quickly with all the amazing items they keep adding.

Somehow I just feel more hyped for this one daily, and haven't met the weird enthusiasm gaps i've felt during some of the other KS' i'm currently involved with.

Alpharius, there's other great models too, and a great ruleset that Alien Dungeon is putting together. I strongly urge you to pledge...there's so many amazing goal rewards in this one that you'll be kicking yourself later if you don't.

BTW they're hoping to have all of the initial BEF models up on the site by midnight tonight...

Well, the bulk of BEF is supposedly going to be revealed at 200k, but inexplicably this Kickstarter has slowed to a crawl.

Its a shame... people are really sleeping on this one. The free trial rules are great. I wonder how many Dakkanauts are pledging on games right now without even a clue as to their mechanics, while this one, pretty laid bare, and tested by many here, is already proving to be amazing, despite early, cut down rules.

The British are coming! The British are coming! Here's the mono tank, based off of a concept from a Popular Mechanics magazine from the early 1900's:

And more BEF, this time the Imperial Main Service Tank:

Worth noting....

1. From comments, apparently the bulk, or many-many British forces will all be available tomorrow, by noon, EST.

2. There WILL be new pledge levels, possibly one including everything to date, but more likely (all but confirmed) are a few sizes of British faction pledge tiers/bundles.

Looks like that noon deadline won't be met, but for a very good reason...Alien Dungeon has been receiving a lot of critiques on the look of the main service tank, and will be reworking it before putting the BEF up. So, bad news is there's a delay(though they're still planning on posting later today). But the good news is, this is an example of how AD actually listens to their player base!

I would like to see more detail on it, and the paintjob certainly is not helping. As it is many WW2 tank models are just looking a lot better to use.

A lot of it is the round turret vs. the blocky armor. They should go all blocky or all cast/round. It would also look a lot better with more stowage on it. An maybe even some improvised armor? I imagine against a heat ray they crews might add extra water containers around it.

I would also imagine that steam would be a great defense against a heat ray, I know that water vapor actually disperses a laser IRL so any kind of projected EM energy, especially heat, would likely be dispersed or unfocused by passing through heavy water vapor. They mentioned elsewhere 'laying steam' as a defense so I guess maybe they already have the idea....

Don't worry guys... it was just bad photography.... right? :-p

Sorry... couldn't resist. I do agree that several BEF have looked less impressive, to me, thus far, than other factions... but that happens with every game, and personal choice, so it is all good. I'm loving the mono-wheel, and BEF Thunderchild II though.

Wow... this little interest around here? Check out the next batch of stretch-goals, or the fully updated, and massively improved, British forces. :-)

By $250k, higher end pledge tiers look like they'll be gettting roughly $70 more in freebies versus where we are now.

Also BEF bundles will finally go up today, and supposedly Force-Composition rules/info as well iirc.

I'm pledged at the $360 level (On The Front). That is more than a little interest in my opinion.

And here's a pic Alien Dungeon just put up, to show everything that's going to be available in the Kickstarter(so far). (For those of you that haven't pledged yet, be aware that some of the ones that say "free" aren't necessarily included at all the pledge levels.)

I love the "Not KV1" Kitchner and the Cardigan.

How can anyone not love that pig of a vehicle!?

If the sculpts look anything like the art for the infantry, I will have to have mass quantities.
