The Ugly Misfits is a proven winner. If you don't mind taking them to 2 GT's in a row, then they may be your best bet.
I like the combination of the 56th and St. Celestine. Too bad you can't make her your Warlord. However, troop mobility may be an issue here. That's just an inherent problem of guards trying to get to and hold objectives. Overall, I think guards have been knocked down a peg or so in 6th. You just may find them having trouble against some of the newer armies.
I'm not feeling your Tau-dar list. Eldrad is a huge multiplier. Problem is, he'll be in a very fragile unit. Moreover, I don't feel the Tau can adequately take advantage of his powers. Prescience for 1 unit of firewarriors? Not very impressed. Invisible crisis suits? Enemy will just target another unit. Probably the best powers will be Misfortune and perhap Hallucination against deathstar units. Finally, you're missing out on one the best units in the dex - the Riptide.
As for daemons, I don't feel that they bring enough offense to make them a serious contender. Horrors and daemonettes are good. I'm not really feeling the plaguebearers. Besides resiliency, they don't contribute much to the daemon army. Fateweaver is good, but he also doesn't contribute much in terms of threat as well (though he is a good shooter). You're really missing out on 3 of the best units in the dex: seekers, flesh hounds and the soulgrinders.
Overall, I'd go with necron/CSM or IG/Sisters. If you want more of a challenge, go with IG/Sisters. If you want more reliability, go with necron/CSM.

My only worry with the necrons is the emergence of tau kind of counters that build some. Really it comes down to the meta at the tournament. If there are a lot of tau players then the IG army would be the way to go. If there aren't that many then the Necron/ csm list would probably excel again. I suppose if I take them it would be a good test for the nova.

Actually my IG/SoB list I posted it illegal as it needs 1 more SoB squad. Sure celestine is nice for 115pts but its a tax of 250pts for weak allied troops... hmmm. Might just settle on the ugly misfits for this one and see if I can keep them undefeated in GT's this year.

Nope, allied detachments only require a compulsory 1 HQ and 1 troops. So you're good to go.

Figured as much otherwise it looked like a terrible play taking the tax.

The CSM + necrons is always very solid, but the new Taus can severely hurt you. I would consider to make CSM the primary detachment though, you can fit in a lot of flyers (up to 7, with some lists), or mantain a good number of them (5) but have 2 CC units that are fast and hit hard (spawns and wraiths).
I voted for the IG+SoB list, but only because i think the new Taus are really strong, and may find a lot of those. But i am not familiar with your local meta, the CSM + Necrons list is stronger imho.
If you want to go Tau + Eldar, have you considered a Farsight Enclave list? Something along this line:
Commander Farsight 165
Commander Shadowsun 135
Crisis bodyguard team 667
Crisis bodyguard, C&C node, MSSS, retro-thrusters, drone controller 80
Crisis bodyguard, 2 fusion blasters, target lock, neuroweb system jammer 69
Crisis bodyguard, 2 plasma rifles, target lock, puretide neurochip 82
Crisis bodyguard, 2 plasma rifles, target lock, onager gauntlet 67
Crisis bodyguard, 2 plasma rifles, target lock 67
Crisis bodyguard, 2 missile pods, target lock 67
Crisis bodyguard, 2 missile pods, target lock 67
14 gun drones 168
6 fire warriors 54
6 fire warriors 54
10 kroots, hound 65
skyray, blacksun filter, disruption pod 131
skyray, blacksun filter, disruption pod 131
broadsides team 285
broadside, HYMPs, SMSs, early warning override, bonded
broadside, HYMPs, SMSs, early warning override, bonded
broadside, HYMPs, SMSs, early warning override, bonded
6 missile drones
farseer, runes of warding, mind war (actually, you will roll on Divination and get the Primaris 99% of the games) 90
3 guardian jetbikes 66
1848
I am currently 13-0 with this list, most games won by wipe.out, and all the other lists i faced were extremely competitive (along the line of yours and actually some better than them, imho), and played by decent players. This list is hard to use, but it's an absolute beast.

I like your list except here... these are really easy to kill off and my necron list could actually do it in one turn of shooting. Not sure if I can run unprotected troops that are not mobile. The 3 jetbikes are but with only 3 wounds even guardsman can easily kill them off.

Take your necron/chaos space marine list.It just hard to beat and against tau i think you own it,they have a tuff time dealing with barges and wraiths going to there front lines. to there fast and the flying deamon prince is just nasty.but with the deamon prince use the burning brand you just roast there lines lol,but take it and just get the win again.

They start in Reserve, and then hide. With this list, you don't need a lot of troops, jetbikes and outflanking kroots can take distant objectives after you clear them with your suits, FWs can take objective on your side, that you should place close to the table edge and behind cover, preferably something that blocks line of sight as well. In 13 games, i won by wipe-out 9 of them, some by turn 4 or even 3. Trust me, almost every army needs scoring units, this list does not.
