Genghis Connie is into it and has gone to conventions and parties. The actual panels seem...trippy and slightly interactive. Wow this aint Daddy's Dr. Strange...

Dodst thou know anything about it? Seems just like cosplay and a strange/somewhat interesting high tech version of a comic. But thats why I am asking. Although I am one hell of a hep cat, this is generations different then I.

Homestuck has a huge following online, the comic has some good tech behind it, but some of the content and the fervor with the way the fans react to this series puts it firmly into the do not want category for me.
There are probably people on Dakka that could give you reasons why GC can/should read Homestuck

It depends on her age really, I'd rate it at 15+ but it's obviously up to parental discretion.
The panels themselves range from stills to animations to fully interactive games but tend to be quite entertaining... I believe it was once described as War and Peace if written by Douglas Adams.

Again, most of the issues I have with homestuck come from Frazz's OP where he says GC has gone to conventions and parties. The Homestuck fandom is more fervent than the MLP fandom... It's a a group of people I've had decent contact with in the past, and they're not people I would like to deal with on a daily basis.
But Jihadin is right, at the end of the day, give it a read and make the final decision. Also while you're reading it, google "Homestuck Fandom"

Will do. I'll note the convention they went to, there was always a grizzly attack mom in tow. The only boys that appeared didn't give off the impression they were that interested in girls.

Heh, it's not really that kind of fandom...
The more sexually orientated fans are less "go to parties/conventions and pick up girls" and more "write smutty fanfiction and draw porn".
It's also extremely long and doesn't get particularly interesting until about a third of the way through so reading the whole thing may not be the best idea.

Agreed with purps, you'll find nut bags in every fandom. I mean just look at some of the 40k fiction in the Dakka Fiction section (hey-o! ). But Homestuck tends to have more of them that are more prevalent, and Corpses, the Homestuck fandomers that I dealt with were very very very much into the latter of the two categories you listed... I had never seen so many multi-colored dongs outside of an Ambiance (the store for lovers)...
