I was thinking if you upgraded cultists yo zombies shouldn't they be able to spread papa
Nurgles rot.

My idea was that every time ypu killed a enemy non-vehicle unit roll a D6 on a 6+
they will turn into a plauge zombie.

Use the same model only place a marker on it to represent that it is a plague zombie

Hope you like it!!!

This would become way to confusing way to fast imho.

Why not make it something like for every enemy model a plague zombie killed in cc the unit is allowed to roll a wbb of 5+ for a single unsaved wound the unit would suffer.

So you would not have to use markers or an infinite amount of additional zombies but they would still be a lot tougher due to the additional save.

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

what's wrong with infinite zombies? just allow the squad to increase in size for every kill or roll a 4+ for every kill to increase the squad size.

I am guessing the reason they don't have this rule is because the infection doesn't spread quick enough for the new zombie to appear during the battle.

If it were to be introduced I would say roll a d6 for each enemy wounded and on a 6 they would come back as a zombie.

Monstrous Creatures would be immune as would several types of infantry such as:

All Daemons
Necrons
Wraithguard
Anyone with the Mark of Nurgle
Legion of the Damned
Thousand Sons (no bodies)

I am sure there are others but can't think of any atm.

every time a plague zombie kills a enemy non-vehicle Infantry Model roll a D6 on a 6
they will turn into a plauge zombie. Add 1 plague zombie to the squad that caused the unsaved wound

This seems like a pretty cool idea, but you'd have to put the points of Zombies up, which, IMO, would just make them too expensive and defeat the purpose of the Zombies themselves :/

Iirc there is a formation that mentions typhus being able to bring his own unique zombie blobs that have an ability that brings back dead zombies and dead infantry they are in combat with

zombies kill very little, having only 1 attack at ws/s/i 3. Getting 16.6% of the models they kill back in additional zombies isnt going to make them much better. What makes zombies so good is that they are fearless and reasonably durable for 4ppm. Getting 1-2 additional wounds in combat isnt going to make them that much more durable. If it is too much I say remove their 6+ armor save.

Keep them exactly how they are with the addition of this "Endless Ranks" rule and even I'd consider starting Chaos again....

I've read the add a model on a 6+ rule someplace in an official GW looking document.

Also screw not having it apply to Necrons and stuff. If they kill a Necron, a random nearby corpse that was lying about has just gotten up and joined the unit. Good as gold.

Tyranids are canonically immune.
White Dwarf EoT campaign wrote:The hive world of Subiaco Diablo was the first planet in the Belis Corona sector to come under the heel of the forces of Disorder, as the Plague Marines of the Death Guard Traitor Legion unleashed their foulest contagions upon its populace. Soon, the shattered streets were home to the unquiet dead, the Plague Zombies of Nurgle, reanimated victims of the Plague God's choicest gifts. Throughout the opening phase of the invasion, only the convent of the Order of the Order of the Ermine Mantle held out, though at terrible cost, against the shuffling hordes of undead.

At the height of the invasion, something truly unexpected occurred. Defenders on the outlying systems reported contact with Tyranid organisms - at first individual vanguard-organisms such as Lictors, but soon entire broods of Genestealers and Hormagaunts. A splinter fleet of Hive Fleet Leviathan, a Tyranid fleet known to be attacking up through the galactic plane, was taking advantage of the mass destruction initiated by the invasion to gain a foothold in strategically vital Imperial space.

Faced with both the pustulant forces of the Death Guard, and the voracious hordes of Tyranids who were, unlike the human defenders, immune to the Plague God's blessings, the forces of the Imperium were hard pressed to defend the vital worlds of the sector.

And good luck infecting unliving mummy robots.

Or daemons made out of solid thought.
