Just saw this little gem on Kickstarter.

Dakka's very own Ouze has decided that we in the wargaming community could use a little more butt jokes in our Grimdark, and as such has come up with this pretty little thing he likes to call a Flying Assault Butt.

Project Goal
I'm going to be creating Flying Assault Butts, a small resin model to be used with tabletop games.

In the Grimdarkmost far future, war has engulfed the galaxy. A plague has come from the furthest dimensions of the unknown, wiping out whole populations. The plague causes an unspeakable agony as the victim's butt takes on a life of it's own, tearing itself away to attack mindlessly. Perhaps it's some government science project gone awry. Perhaps it's, I don't know, magic or something.

What I do know is: The Butt Wars rage.

Here is a picture of the Flying Assault Butt with an idea of scale.

Risks and Challenges
I'll be making these in my spare time, but am pretty well experienced with casting small projects like this. The only issues I expect to encounter are what Donald Rumsfeld once called the "unknown unknowns". That being said I should be able to make these no problem.

I'm in at the $10 dollar level and might be going for the $30 pledge.

Quick question though: If there are any alternate sculpts stretch goals, can you trade out some of the plain ones in a squad for special sculpts?

At this level, it's certainly a great buy.

I would love it if a stretch goal included a Royal Pain in the Flying Assault Butt so I can have a squad leader.

Of course. I don't believe I can update the original rewards to reflect that, however.

No, but you can check out the nuts and bolts thread complaining about kickstarters that was the inspiration for this...

Are the flying butts from Uranus?

I've always feared Uranus with its dark rings and sucking black hole.

I don't think I could ever stand to touch the surface of Uranus.

Are you partnering up with any terrain companies to make terrain and/or tiles as an add-on goal? Hover toilet terrain and gas station stall tiles seem like no brainers.

Anyway - I have some ideas but no partnerships with anyone else yet. I'll keep you posted. I have some concepts to mock up but I want to go slow so I don't overextend myself - I saw an awful lot of kickstarters sort of get screwed by too much success.

Thank you again to everyone for making this incredibly inane, pedestrian dream - one I've held dear to my heart with great yearning and starry eyes; for about 3 days now - come to fruition.

There will be more to come, and all of it will be exactly like what you've already seen.

I'm glad you address the scale issue with the ruler right away. I've seen promising kickstarters like Thon felled by scale incompatibilities. I can safely say that I think your offering is to scale with all other daemonic flying butt minis that I've seen.

Oh I dunno, daemon wings and bare buttcheeks, the KD tie-in is inherent in the model.
As for PA and something/one which/who is just a gigantic ass, I'll refrain from commenting.
