Which are good masking films to do Camo patterns on vehicles?
Could 3M ones work? I found one on eBay for $13 shipped.

The value of the ready printed ones is for doing complex masks like digital camo.
You can do your own masks using Blu-tac and foil, or with Tamiya masking tape, if you want a simpler pattern.

Enjoy!
While nice, it seems way overpriced in my opinion.

Obviously it's something you could cut out for yourself, but it must be a PITA to do so and people want to save time.

Just do it yourself with some masking tape. Depending on the pattern, if you happen to have an airbrush laying around, spray random blobs and shapes onto the model. Camo isn't complicated, its usually random crap in any various form to break up an outline.

The problem is consistency. If you are painting a lot of models, you will see the sizes and shapes of the blob start to morph as you got tired or better at painting them or whatnot.
You definitely want some kind of repeatable pattern to keep yourself from slipping.

The camo I want to do is the T'au Camo which you can't do with just an airbrush, you need some method of masking.

Tau splinter camouflage is based on WW2 Luftwaffe splinter patterns.
You can freehand it with a brush but it's really easy to do with masking tape and an airbrush.
The main thing is if you want to get the pattern the same on every vehicle of the same type, which is what modern forces do. That prevents the enemy from knowing exactly which vehicle they are looking at. That is a bit harder to do, and takes some care in placing the tape.

any art supply store or hobby store should sell sheets of masking film in varying size or thickness. for the cost of one of those premade sheets you could probably get a 5 pack of letter size masking film you can cut yourself.

i have used liquid masking quite a few times with sucess, the ones that apply blue and dry clear work good for doing custom painting.
