Hey,
i know that GH used to have a special rule named "true grit" granting them the ability to use their bolters as bolt pistols in close combat so they would get +1 attack.
In the latest codex there is no special rule anymore but in their profile they got a close combat weapon listed.
So am i astimating correct that GH always attack with 2 attacks + the bonus for assault/counter-attack?

That is correct.

1 base
1 for 2 CCW (for having BP + CCW)
(possible +1 for charging or Counter Attack)

I thought True Grit was from the old Grey Knights Codex. Was it in Codex Grey Hunters as well?

Yes, the old Space Wolves had it too. In fact I think the GK stole it from them.

Yup, it was a SW rule, then GKs stole it, and plague marines did too. Then C:SM had it in the previous codex to this with the divergent chapter rules. Such fun.

Bit Off Topic: Its happened more than once, Raptors were the first to have Hit and Run and now they are about the only unit that doesn't have it.

Somewhat related. Can they overwatch with their bolters then fight with bp/ccw?

Simple answer is yes, thats the intention. Grey hunters are brilliant line troops for close range firefights and counter assaults, unlike tacs which have better middle ground holding capability and flexibility.

That's not only the intention, it's the rules. Firing a weapon (shooting phase or overwatch) can have some effects, but being forced to use it in the next CC is not one of them.

And that would be the not so simple answer.
