Just found you here today on this thread, great stuff, can't wait to see more. I especially like seeing the concept art, excellent grounds for more conversions.
The figs are super-well executed.

Alright, I'm back! Had a frantic couple of weeks unfortunately.
I've not been able to take any new photographs, but here's some concept heads for different Aliens. I'm just trying to work out a few ideas with this, but I think a few are worthy of refinement:

I like the bottom right; it's very reminiscent of the first film Alien, which I've always thought was the best (Something about seeing inside it's dome was super creepy)
Hope to see some more progress, your conversions are fantastic!

Thanks.
I whole-heartedly agree with you about half-seeing what's under the dome ( Alien is and always has been my favorite film from the series, both from a design perspective and as a movie).
As far as achieving this effect at such a small scale, my plan thus far involves experimenting with making a mold of the cranial dome and casting clear epoxy resin in it (the kind used to finish surfboards), while suspending an already painted head about 2/3 of the way into the mold, from above. I suspect there will be a huge amount of trial and error involved in this though.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Nice work on the terrain, you should try putting a few gene stealers/aliens uncoiling from the walls etc
Don't know if you have seen these but they are an easy way to get awesome marines

Indeed, they're from the Alien vs. Predator Miniatures Game, by Prodos.

Yep, really looking forward to seeing more Aliens. So far they've mainly been showing off the AvP-style Alien, the "Stalker" and the Predalien, but the Warriors, Praetorian and Queen are what I'm hype for.

If you're still working on the marines. Mad Robot minis does some really good USCMC torsos and heads. They also do pulse rifles, but I found them to be a bit too weedy to look good on the regular GW minis when I was cobbling mine together.

I've seen those actually, they're pretty good, but I'd rather just wait for Prodos to get their act together and get their marines. No conversions needed!
Thanks.

Despite all the injustices done to the license over the years in terms of films and games, I still have a soft spot for the Aliens universe. Looking forward to see where you go with this.
Where is the terrain for the ruined facility from?
