I just checked out the Vampire Count army on the GW web site and saw it was going at $99 for five models. I think at that price, I'd rather use the Cavalry from one of the othe armies and just say they got turned into Vampires. What would be the opinion of those facing a Vampire player doing this? What is the opinion of the Vampire Count players?

The Lair of Vengeance....Poole.

The problem with blood knights is twofold. Their price and the fact that they're failcast.

I find it easier to use chaos knight steeds with bretonnian bodies. Icons filed down and filled, obviously.

Malifaux masters owned: Guild(Sans McCabe), Outcasts(Sans Misaki), Arcanists(Sans Marcus)

My opinion would be good on ya if you wanted them for the looks, I mean they're nice an' sleek. I"m sure most vamp players are prolly not keen on the price, but I won't say thats a fact.

The models are really superb but as said previously they are now failcast and super expensive. I have eight of them but they didnt cost me anything or I would not have them.

They were $99 even when metal so they have always been just ridiculously expensive. Just use Empire or Brettonian knights.

Spare a thought for the poor Aussies. Go on, change your region and gaze upon that price.

While they are ok models, I found it was easy and cheaper to just convert them.
They are supposed to be somewhat "individual" which means you can get away with so many different conversions.

My Vampires are heavily converted from the Bretonnian range to represent a Mousillon force. For Blood Knights I used the pegasus horses (with the wings removed and the wing-shoulder filed away) and pegasus knight bodies. Throw on some personal trinkets to each one, and a spike or two to the horse head, and a vampire head to the champ and you've got a good looking unit (in plastic)

That's somewhat an understatement. The Blood Knights are the best cavalry models GW have on sale. The level of detail on them is magnificent. Being priced individually like characters I could actually stand if there was a way to buy them individually - I'd drop $41au per model if I could space it out, rather than sneaking $165au for 5 models past the missus.

The sad part about it is hardly anyone fields those awesome models.

You aussies think you have it bad...

1 New Zealand Dollar is .82 USD
5 Blood knights in the US: $99
5 Blood knights in New Zealand: $195

There isn't a single person on this town who uses Blood knights, not one. Not even those guys who have all GW model armies with no conversions and studio paint schemes

The comments I see about the Blood Knights begs the question as to why GW even puts them out. Is the margin so great on them that if even two people out of a hundred buy them, profit is made?

They used to sell them individually.

It is asinine that they do not any longer.

I just looked at an old White Dwarf I found and it is loaded with undead armies by staffers who use everything from Dragon Princes to Boar Boyz for Blood Knights.

I am sure they dont pay their staffers anywhere near enough for them to be able to afford the blood knoght models.

I love the horse models in the Blood Knight box, but have no use for the riders.

When they were a mere $80 over here I almost got a box.

Unfortunately most of the time they still just look like Dragon Princes.

I have a set of Blood Knights. China sells them for like $35. I wonder how they get such a good discount >.> Perhaps the Chinese Yuan is really strong right now.

Lucky you, it would have enraged you when they arrived and you found out the legs of the knights are sculpted on the horses!
