PunkNeverDie110 wrote:Straken can infiltrate everywhere. In fact, he's probably behind you right now. Oh well.
Seriously, now. I think is a fair fight, Straken bionic arm and Yarrick powerklaw are the same thing, basically power fists. Yarrick can shot you with a mini-lasgun. LOL, bolter can't do anything to Straken, why a mini-lasgun should be a problem? Straken could simply blown Yarrick heads with his shotgun and laugh about it. But again, Yarrick is pratically immortal, since he got up everytime he was "dead".
But I have bias toward Straken, I love catachans, so yeah... Straken ftw.
Bionic arm is a powerful arm which can crush stuff pretty damn well.
That counts as an in-game chainfist....
In fluff, I'd say bionic arms could do stuff like break limbs. In background however you interpret it, a power klaw outmatches a bionic arm.
yeah but its not JUST a bionic arm... if it can do more than a power klaw it clearly outmatches the klaw... besides with no orks around do we even know his Klaw will work? its mentioned several times ork tech only really works as well as it does because they think it works
Spoiler:
Let's look at Straken's arm:
Now compare that to Yarrick's arm:
Yeah, I reckon Yarrick's would win in a fight.
Also, I'd guess that his klaw works, what with him using it in battle for several decades now.

still, just a power klaw... he'd be lucky to kill a battlewagon with it. On the other hand (get it? ) straken can rip open a Land Raider with his bare hand, and due to it not being bulky, does so as fast as he can instead of having to use a bulky SOB klaw that makes you get hit first before being able to strike back. Plus, his bare chest confers the save of power armor and his bionics give him a 5++. yarricks rocking what, a cape? pffft.

I agree. Yarrick does look a lot cooler than Straken. Hello this is the 41st millennium, who still wears bandannas? (no offense to people that wear them)
Yarrick wins by coolness AND by having a storm bolter.

- I doubt that his bionic arm could tear apart a land raider if Yarrick's ridiculously big klaw would be "lucky to kill a battlewagon", since if we're working off the rules here, Straken's arm is as powerful as Yarrick's, just faster.
- Yarrick wears a leather stormcoat, which is badass.
- It doesn't matter a whole lot who hits first when Yarrick would just take the hit and carry on.

plasma pistol and shotguns everywhere want a word with you. Ill give you he looks cooler, but he is a man known for getting beaten up. Stracken got bit in half by a half-tyranid mutant, choked it to death with his remaining hand and slaughtered a fethload of enemied before trekking back to basecamp for extensive surgeries and augmentation. Advantage: Stracken.
On top of that, there are no orks present, therefore he is no longer invincible. Had he met the orks Straken would be the thing ork boys tell their young'uns is under the bed at night. He also would have trashed that whole WAGGGHHHH with nothing more than a plasma pistol shot and a dead ghazzy.
(BTW im not biased just making sure Straken is well-represented here. No love for the catcheans )

- "he is a man known for getting beaten up." *immediately states how Straken was beaten up*
- He got his arm bitten off, he wasn't "bit in half".
- I thought it was just some 40k equivalent to a shark... on land?
- It's mostly agreed that he cut its throat with his knife.
Compare that to Yarrick, who, as a lowly commissar, lost his arm to an ork warboss which he then killed (a more impressive feat than to a shark), and he isn't known for getting beaten up, he's known for saving a crucial planet against the largest waagh in the past 10,000 years while vastly outnumbered and outgunned long enough for reinforcements to arrive, and also surviving this fight, despite being headbutted.

Beaten up as in surprised, bit in half (yeah all the cybernetics on his torso? those left him with his arm) and then singlehandedly killed the thing that did it (without a sound) does not equal beaten up, then released because you were a decent fighter. half his torso went with his arm. Ill admit his legs were both still attached ill give you that, but pretty much in half. (anyone else would have been killed. I envision him spraying on some synth-skin and then single handedly racking his shotgun right after that.) They were derived from a tyranid invasion that was repelled (they were left behind and mutated into "land sharks" but they originated from the buggies) Still, only had one hand and half a torso, quite an achievement. He didn't even pass out. Yarrick also passed out and was thought to be dead, after losing just an arm. Stracken silently slit the throat of a half-tyranid monstrosity that bit his arm and half his torso off, so as to keep his position a secret, spearheaded his squads invasion to an enemy encampment, then hiked back to safety to be patched up. Ill admit, he might not have the tactical genius of Yarrick, but he's pretty damn tough. AND be fair gazzy captured him. he only let him go because he was the toughest fight gaz had had in years. They are both balls-o-ceramite tough though. Horrifying to see what happens if they tag team.

Okay, so Straken has taken harder hits than Yarrick To be fair to Yarrick though, he did hit retirement age before the second war for armageddon, which was over 50 years ago, so he's bloody ancient now
I'd hate to see what could take on a Yarrick/Straken tag team, though

Yeah how many arthritic 100+ y/o guys could cut off an orks PK arm after losing his own?
Maybe an army? although, throw marbo in there and I doubt even that.

Infiltrate... with no 18"/LOS limitation. Or that thing the deathleaper has, where it popa up wherever the hell you want.
Back on topic, middle ground time- Straken has taken heavier hits, and Yarrick is smarter and is more pimped out. And in the end, may the emperor have mercy on the poor bastard to face either of them
