With the tragic events that span across the Horus Heresy, there are those who wonder if more Primarchs would have followed Horus as well if their circumstances were different or that they needed more "pursuasion"?...
For instance would Ferus Manus have turned traitor if Fulgrim and Horus was more manipulative?
Would the White Scars turned traitor altogether instead of the few that did?
Would the Imperial Fists turn traitor if it werent for the rivalry between Perturabo and Dorn?
Or could have The Ultramarines be pursuaded at all if it werent for the interference of the Word Bearers?
Or that of the other Loyalist Primarchs etc...
What would be your thoughts, ideas and opinions?~

There's actually a piece of fanfic that speculates upon exactly that. Basically it has all of the Primarch loyalties swapped around, with traitors becoming loyalists and vice-versa.

Yup the Dornian heresy is based on similar ideas. I have to admit that it is a very interesting read. To be honest I liked the armies that are used in that version, Space wolves that worship Khorne sounds pretty awesome to me.

As written, no, the loyal primarchs were quite fanatical in their zeal for not only the Emperor but the IoM. Horus for the most part only turned the weaker and more mentally disturbed brothers to his side.
Magnus more or less just screwed up and becoming a traitor was his fall back position. Fulgrim was heavily influenced by demonic possession and the whole Alpha legion plot is stupid.
I havent read Betrayer yet but I still await a satisfactory explanation of why Mortarion turned traitor.
Even the most wacked out loyal primarch, the Lion, was unwavering in his loyalty to the Emperor even though he trusted no one else, even the loyal primarchs.

Horus wanted the Imperium that was all he was interested in...

The Dornian Heresy is a somewhat interesting read, though not all of the fluff behind it is very good. I will commend them for not just going 1 for 1 on traitors vs loyalists. The Ultramarines story is actually particularly well written. But some of the others just feel kinda silly.
But, that said, it isn't like the core fluff is that solid either, lol. Mostly the reasons why the traitors turned like they did.
But you have to remember this is because the Horus Heresy storyline dates back to a time when your name was Angron because you were angry and the daemon primarch of the Chaos god of being angry. And your name was Mortarion because you looked like Death, complete with scythe.
