Shouldn't those prices be $1 higher? The pledge level descriptions say plus $1 for each physical item, i.e. $1 for each book.

Are RPGs really this expensive now?

Now showing Catachan Jungle Fighters and World War zombies!

Painting total as of 30th November 2025: 136 plus a Deva King statue

Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

Sadly, yes. PDF editions will be much more affordable, probably. Cthulhu has also had the 'issue' where older editions where set up such that the players really don't want to buy the main book (as it has a lot of Mythos information to spoil), so sales were always less than games with "Player's Guides" as the core book.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy.

I think I already figured that in. EDIT: Oh, I see, you are correct. Updating OP ...

They've never not been expensive. Even the woodgrain D&D box cost $10 in 1974, which (according to this site) is $47.17 in 2013 dollars.

Still. $30 for both PDF books is a pretty good deal. I'm interested to see where this campaign goes

You can now add $65 to your pledge to get the new Horror on the Orient Express, in case you missed that KS (like me).
