Spearhead doesn't really count because it's not a regular scenario (just like Apocalypse is itself). If you agree to playing it, you know what's coming.

I like the look of the Contemptor Mortis, it looks like something the Dreadnought should be. A giant walking platform toting guns.

Hell, no model in my army goes out without a helmet because they are wearing the best armor in the galaxy, why would they take their helmets off?

A lot of what I use is because I think it looks cool or i imagine it to be doing something cool on the battlefield. I use a pair of vindicators because I like imagining them blowing a giant hole in my enemies lines while combat squads armed with plasma guns and meltas drive into the breach to take out the enemy survivors.

Also, since I use a forgeworld model, I am of course cool with Forgeworld being used on me. I love the chance to blow up and be blown up by new things. I haven't really seen anything out of FW that is that bad(other than the Vulture, really...).

I do the same thing. I've beheaded many a miniature in order to install a helmeted head, because MY troops aren't that freaking stupid.

Even my Abaddon models have helmets on.

Partly because it makes more sense that way, and partly because that god damn top knot is heinously ugly. Plus it gave me room to model all sorts of neat helmets, although the one I use most has the Araghast the Pillager type helmet.

I chose the last poll option because it made me smile. ^_^

But I wouldn't really mind playing against Forge World stuff. Or using Forge World stuff.

In fact, I have a twin-linked heavy bolter for my dreadnought which I'm pretty sure is from Forge World. I got it in the early 2000s at the Toronto Games Day Grand Tournament thingy. I'm pretty sure it's resin, because plastic glue didn't make the dual ammo belts stick to it very well. And I'm pretty sure it's FW, because it was sold right there and it looks like the one on FW's site. I dunno where the ammo belts are anymore, because they broke off and got lost or something. I never use it anymore though. I also have a weird, round metal jump pack and a metal power sword from there. The power sword I'm pretty sure is on the same commander guy I gave the jump pack to, who is himself a metal miniature. I painted the sword black because I was using it as some sort of Dark Angels wargear for my DA back in like 2003 or something.

As for the current discussion, some of my models have helmets, some don't. While I agree it's silly, even stupid, for a soldier to go without their helmet, I just like the aesthetic of an armored person with an exposed head. It looks nice to me, and of course I like painting my Sororitas' hair weird colors like blue or teal or pink or green or purple. ^^

But we can all agree...

Hey, if you're the Warmaster of all of Chaos and Horus' favored son, I think it's pretty certain to say that's he's quite comfortable with his masculinity. I'm sure he's even dyed it pink before.

But in any case, as an Elysian player myself, the personal stance I take is that I'll let you field it, as look as you have the most up-to-date book where it's from and the FAQs for it, as well as letting me leaf through the unit/list entry. No, I don't count PDF printouts. No book, no FW game. Let's be real, some (but not all, as a lot of people assume) FW things are more powerful than their points cost, but I want to make sure that I'm not being cheated.

Maybe he felt like wanting to be like the old Japanese Samurai of old, with their fancy top-knots and kicking ass.

Depends on the list. When I see someone having a few FW lists because he likes them, sure, why not, but if someone just goes for the obvious Pay2Win direction, I just wave him off.

Not a problem for me to play against forge world units or lists the only stipulation is have the rules with you as there not advailable (to read) in store, and that I get a chance to read them before deployment so I've got some idea what I'm facing.

Always pro-FW. I don't give a **** what it is, no conditions here. I firmly support them, partly because I prefer the way they conduct business compared to the Design studio - they actually talk about what's coming next, and even give previews of WIP models!
