Hello all I've been playing 40k for about 7 months now and painting seriously for about 4 or 5 months. Recently I have started playing fantasy also as the vampire counts. My general theme of the army is a charred look, as if the dead have been raised from the remnants of a firestorm. Also most of the rank and file will have some sort of green necromatic energy glowing from their eyes and if possible from their heart area. Anyways here is some of my models that I have already started.

Also I realize that a few of them still have flash on the models and I have since gone back and fixed the problem.

Thanks a friend actually gave me the idea, he doesn't play any tabletop games. And I thought it was original and went with it

Really liking the charred look and the glowy green hearts. However the banners not to the same standard. Incidentally have you seen the lovely greens and blues you can get from burnt bone at certain temperatures?

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Hmmm I was actually thinking more of the symbol VG is slightly dull and I'm sure you could come up with something better. For the bone temperature thing basically the chemistry of the bone composition changes with temperature and depending on how hot it get depends on the colour it becomes. This includes a nice pale blue and a vivid green. I work in archaeology and come across this every now and again generally when someones burnt their dinner several hundred years ago.

Oh okay makes sense, I am pretty bad at free hand well haven't really tried before so I thought VG would be better than nothing. Also that is pretty cool I never knew that

A very simple drop pod I painted up. Liking the look of it, will probably paint the others like this also

Don't feel bad about not being very good at painting faces. I've been painting for almost 13 years and I'm just starting to get the hang of it.

Terminators look really good, though the drop pod really caught my eye. So simple, yet clean and those little white flecks (was that on purpose?) makes it look spacey and gives it just a little something more than black and white.

Actually that wasn't on purpose just an after effect of the painting process, like 5 or 7 coats of watered down ceramite white -_-, but I noticed that and decided not to clean it up

More pictures of my terminators rounding out the squad to a nice 5. Had to take them outside as it wasn't bright enough inside my house

I did test zombie model and I was wondering what you all thought of it. The main armor and cloth colors of the army will be purple and blue, so for the zombies I have about 5 or 6 blues lined up to make them seem like a ragged group
