Cross post question - If I'm not paying with Paypal, does the money pull from my account the minute the KS ends, or some indefinite time after that?

I've always had the money come out fairly soon after the ks ends. Some people have had a delay of a few days though I believe.

Last few KS I did - Wargods and A Cthulhu took funds pretty much immediately

The company that does Mantic and Privateer do not spin cast resin, they injection mould it, I have had direct dealing with them regarding casting my own line.

The only companies I know of doing spin cast resin are Defiance and Troll Forged, there may be others.

Fair enough. In that case we don't really know what the troops will be made of. I don't believe I've seen an "official" post from RH stating their exact material type.

I don't want to put anyone off who really just believes in RH... But just go in knowing a year past what is predicted is not out of the realm of possibility... based on what we've seen of them with single releases, and all the extra challenges that a huge campaign adds, as we've seen with other companies (for example, Dreamforge). Just go in with your eyes open! If you believe and don't mind the delay that is nearly inevitable, pledge. If you'll be unhappy with that, don't. It makes all the difference... I'm still happy to wait on Dreamforge, for instance.

Possible but highly unlikely. Thanks for your concern though.

They've been late before, but one year late?

BTW they contacted the casters first for their schedule, that is one reason why RH started the kickstarter late: All casters were booked by other kickstarters and no chance to deliver the product in a timely fashion with an earlier kickstarter start.

Aye, I've got a couple a year old and rising, I'm in no rush. Just means I have more time to paint my other armies.

Not that I think they will be that late mind, but it won't bother me any if it turned out to be the case.

Yep, I think that's the right attitude it's certainly how I'm approaching kickstarters these days!

Minx- Having backed a dozen projects so far and not one of them being on-time, with the higher the pledge total the later the campaign being, yes that is without a doubt my prediction. Hoping to be wrong, of course... but imo people should go in with the mindset of late 2014 / early 2015, rather than early 2014.

If you go in expecting that, you can be pleasantly surprised . The reverse only leads to gnashing of teeth...

Of course some delays are to be expected. And since we have to wait eight month until the foreseen delivery date i don't mind another half a year or so. But twelve month out? I believe they'll manage better

These other kickstarter projects, how much time have they allowed themselves with their initial delivery date?

Edit: And i am finally in with the opening of an early bird.

Dreamforge had been wayyyyyyyyyyy too optimistic with a 2 moths delivery date for Wave 1. And Wave 2 is 4 months late, Wave 3 is 2 months late.

54mm freedom fighter miniatures as add-ons:

They will be made in high quality spin-cast resin.

Note: These Add-Ons, as their name imply, can only be added on top of your current pledge amount. That is, you cannot spend your pledge's worth on them. You have to increase your pledge to get them.

1.) I am a RH customer since their first miniature, the first edition Ashara. I found their interaction with customers and reaction to feedback excellent in all those years. Delivery was often delayed, but the products always excellent.

That's great for all those years. But for those of us that haven't been customers from their first miniature our only interactions have been through this KS. And for us, they haven't exactly done much to endear themselves.

2.) Kickstarters that are not just hidden preorders but made to expand a business, can't be planned to the second. Also many kickstarters don't show renders, or even prints, see Mantic or Warzone. That's normal for kickstarters. Kickstarters are not for the weak at heart.

Why can't they be? They can absolutely be well planned down to the most minute detail. And they espoused that they had been planning for "months". So much so that they delayed the launch. The KS does not reflect that.

3.) They just said that you get renders before finalizing your order, but after kickstarter.

But not before they have your money.

4.) RH managed some big orders before, e.g. Blood Vestals: http://www.ragingheroes.com/blogs/news/6013976-blood-vestals-theyre-here

I'm probably pointing out the obvious here, but that was ONE unit of 5 models. And it was late by what, two months? That's not a "big order" especially in comparison to this. Extrapolate that out to 10+ units of 5 models and 30ish single models and I think it's reasonable to believe they'll be later than just 2 months.

I mean, it surprises me how non-chalant some of you seem to be at the prospect of them being considerably late. IMO that shouldn't be "okay," and as "investors" you should expect more and hold them accountable. Do delays and eff ups happen? Sure, and we've seen a ton with Sedtion Wars whom, despite all the delays and unexpected eff ups, weren't selling us the notion that they'd be late. I guess I don't get it.

"Expect more?" What more should I expect? I am being told, upfront, that not all of the renders are ready to be seen and that it will take a considerable amount of time to deliver this product. I have reviewed the concept art and the renders that have been shown, I have decided that I like what I see, I trust RH to deliver on the promise of the art, and that the nearly 40% discount I get at my current pledge level (calculated with the pledge calculator), is enough to settle any qualms I might have about something as minor as delivery time.

Then again, as I've stated before, my Kickstarter experience is probably significantly different from most of the other posters here, as I have also backed many nongaming projects. Waiting a long time for delivery of a product that barely even has a functional prototype at the launch of the project is par for the course for me.

Hell, Blood Vestals? Just think about how long it took for their original Manticore to finally get out.

 Fafnir wrote:

This is all I'm trying to say, that it's a huge leap for them, and Kroot as you've pointed out with AoW- people should've known they'd be late based on their track record and the jump they were trying to make. It's reasonable to say something analogous (not identical) here.

Also, I'm local to someone with a first run Ashara model... that was by no means a homerun, the detail was extremely soft. They got the hang of that later, and I've gotten something like 4 manticores from them over time . But as Fafnir mentioned, those were late... as were the blood vestals that you use as an example!

So... for the sake of people's own sanity, they should not expect this in early 2014 imo. For the record, I said "a year past what is predicted is not out of the realm of possibility". Given how much larger of a project this is than any they've undertaken, and how much care they take with their models (a very good thing) and how long it tends to take to get them molded after first seeing previews... And the fact that they've been late even on most of those! Is where my statement is coming from... i.e, not out of left field!

Warning's been said, etc etc, we can move on. For the record, Mierce Miniatures has been delivering brilliantly on their Kickstarter, despites all the warning signs... predicting the outcome of things from the get-go is no science. But the majority of KS projects are late, even by companies with great track records... so it's just something to keep in mind.

It was running slow for me a little while ago, and now you have to actually select all of the freebies for it to properly calculate.

2 more trikes + KST Nurse Karoline...
Update #61 · Jul 5, 2013 · 8 comments

We just added a few new images of the trikes and of the Nurse Karoline Freebee before checking out for a few hours of sleep...

We must admit that we're not entirely satisfied by the position of the Jailbird Trike Pilot, but we had to create this artwork so quickly, it could not be helped. Rest assured that we will adjust this on the sculpt by placing the pilot seat a bit lower and less at the back of the trike for a more chopper-like pose and attitude.

Also, regarding the Iron Empire Trike, just to make sure that you understand the picture, the gunner seat is mounted on the right back wheel.

We can also tell you that tonight, we received the rough concepts for the Werewolves another Stretch Goal), and they are killers!!!

PS/ It's been suggested in the Comments thread that we provide magnet spots on artillery, and we replied: “We can try to do that. If it can't be done for some reason, the way we envision the mount, they should actually stay neatly in place once they're slid into position without the need for glue, which would allow you to switch them as you like. But we're keeping the magnet spots in mind.” Thought you'd like to know
