when I first heard the rumors about new apoc stuff I was worried as I've taken a liking recently to neat big models, then I saw the new stuff and was disappointed, I wont be buying any of it

Okay, so...

Vengeance Weapon Battery, priced about the same as the Skyshield.

Firestorm Redoubt, priced about the same as any two of the Cities of Death building kits (Manufactorum, Sanctum Imperialis, Basilica Administratum).

Aquila Strongpoint, priced about the same as the Fortress of Redemption.

That being said, I'd not be in the least surprised if they were smaller than their current price equivalents, as a prelude to the inevitable price increase that those items are going to have, themselves.

How many armies can't ally with either Guard, Orks, Chaos or Necrons?

Aside from Tyranids that is. Tyranids get nothing. They always get nothing.

Clearly someone took photos (and not during an earthquake this time, judging by the quality). They've just decided to keep the terrain ones to themselves.

Yep. The tank hull is the same, the difference is the upper structure - basically SS has high turretless superstructure and BB has low superstructure with a separate turret. IIRC there's two different sprues in the kits: the first sprue is the different superstructure for each tank. The second sprue is turret + two gun options for BB, and six gun options + some structure bits for SS.

So, move two sprues to the other kit - bam, a dual kit. Now that I think about it, they could have done it at any point.. Apparently a change in the sales strategy, then.

Wow, a Baneblade/Shadowsword combo kit, only 18 years after Armorcast did it. Of course Armorcast kept the cheaper single kits as well so you were not forced to pay for extra bits if you just wanted a single kit...

Imperial Guard got nothing new. Not even the idea of a price increase due to a reboxing is 'new' at this point. Eldar are left out.
Considering it was stated and repeated after the images of the Chaos and Necron pictures leaked, the rumor was a complete fabrication.

Imperial Guard gets terrain. It's more than nothing. And it'll go well with their existing wall of their own dead bodies.

Lord, I hope that the new terrain isn't awash with dead Cadians. Dead anything, really. If I want bodies festooning my terrain, I'd rather they be something decided on by me, not forced upon me by some lunatic's idea of marketing.

Some of s took the time to paint all those dead bodies,lol. Looks pretty good in the end. Makes for one hell of a fun table to play on.

Yea, a "combo kit" really isn't that impressive given that you could get all this since 2008. And let's not get so nostalgic that we forget how terrible the Armorcast stuff really was.

I guess you'd be correct on the last 3 livan, but from memory the Master of the Marche is captain of the 3rd company...

Also the little blurbs so much as state that the Lord Executioner leads the Assault company and Master of Relics leads the Devs.
