I know that the Dark Reaper Exarch can take Flakk Missiles with his Eldar Missile launchers. So I thought oh well I suppose all Eldar Missile Launchers could have it. (Like on Wave Serpents, Falcons, Weapon Platform) But the Codex doesn't say they can. Is this true or?

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.

If the model does not have the option, it cannot take Flakk missiles.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

If its only in the options for the Dark Reaper Exarch, then it stands to reason that only he can take Flakk on his EML.

The codex clearly states which units can and can't take Flakk missiles.

Reaper Exarchs and War Walkers are the only ones.

Edit for clarity

Well that's pretty sucky. Litteraly giving one infantry model (Not counting Warwalkers.) out of an entire army Skyfire/Flakk.

That was the case with the DA as well. Only Scouts.

It's also the case with Grey Knights, Necrons, Space Wolves, etc that they lack even that. Be glad to actually 'have' skyfire options in the codex.

Well, once vendettas and valks see their nerf, the need for skyfire should go down massively. I believe that is the ultimate goal. Once 6th is balanced across all the codexes, skyfire should be less of a necessity and fliers much weaker in general.

I think it's so dedicated heavy support units take on the AA role instead of it being single potshots from more tactical units.

It's the same for CSMs.

And then there's Tau and eldar.

It is suprising from going from Tau with lots and lots and lots of anti air to Eldar with basically one unit. Daemons also have a lack of anti air and CSM and DA have just flakk missiles.

Daemons have skyfire on the soulgrinder.

It's not too effective though.

I would have expected a Firestorm kit or some kind of aa support gun myself .

To all those bemoaning a lack of skyfire options in their new 6th ed codexes... don't forget, you also have skyfire *on your actual flyers*. That's the intent, right there - to sell you the new goodies.

Eldar are still going to get hit hard versus flyer spam lists. Unless we bring IA units, those Baleflames will murder anything on an ADL and/or Reapers.

Crimson Hunter Exarch is the answer for Eldar and flyers. BS5 with two brightlances and a pulse laser? Sweet. Precision shots against infantry is just a good, fun bonus.

Be glad we don't have the piece of Gak.

6 S6 shots with Skyfire/Interceptor for 180pts?

Might as well take a Crimson Hunter or a Nightwing or anything else really.

Frightening Flamer of Tzeentch

Somewhere

I believe the BRB under skyfire speaks on the sophisticated targeting systems needed to fire at fliers w accuracy. Could be wrong on the source but I know I read that somewhere.

Platforms such as war walkers EML (and Crimson Hunters) provide the stability for these systems while fast skimmers would not be able to track zooming fliers w accuracy while zipping around themselves.

The Exarch is a big baddy and in an early edition was the only one of the Reapers to invoke this privilege. Since we can field 10 reapers I think GW is attempting to keep fliers special by limiting what has sky fire. 10 reapers with flakk is kinda crazy and would blow the snot out of any flier brought to the table. To OP imho.

On the defender guardians platform perhaps anti grav does not provide the stable footing for such sophisticated targeting at zooming fliers either

That's how I interpret it but I am open to ideas.

Eldar vehicles are attuned to the crew psychically. I always vewed the crew basically lounging around telling the vehicle to "shoot that one please". There is always a way to justify anything through fluff.
