Morphing Obliterator

Derry

Merwyrms are most commonly found in the dangerous coastal waters of the Sea of Claws, and are bright silver-green and highly venomous. When food is scarce they have been known to assault coastal villages, devouring the inhabitants.

Other rarer sub-breeds are known to exist, such as the albino Pagowyrm which dwells in the frigid seas of Naggaroth, and the legendary black Sciowyrms found only in the deepest ocean trenches. Masters of the primordial darkness that surrounds them in the deeps, they are said to be one of the few creatures that dares to hunt the mighty Kraken.

I like it a lot, the best Warhammer FW has managed out of a very high quality set of models. Great stuff

I think this is the kind of model that needs to be seen in person to really appreciate. It looks like there is some great motion going on but no angle seems to show it off that well.

Great paintjob as well!

Yes yes it's not a Khymeric Titan or a Dread Saurus or a Dwarf Airship or a Thunder Lizard or whatever

What it is an awesome sculpt shown off with a badass paint scheme, and I definitely plan to get one

It seemed pretty awkward to photo well when I was taking pictures of the bare resin at the FW Open Day.

Admittedly, part of that was because of the rotating base...

nope. Since seeing it at the open day I've had an idea about pouring clear resin over it and having fish near it

Once again, Forgeworld knocks it out of the park. They so consistently get right what GW these days gets consistently wrong. Why doesn't GW put the FW people in charge of their design team?

I mean, other than the fact that FW lets creative people devise models based on their inspiration and GW depends on a cold and calculated need to produce x number of plastic kits that can be shoe-horned into building 2x plastic models in order to help sales move more product that the game is artificially constructed to make players need rather than to encourage players to buy what they want.

Because FW has always had the motto of "we build what we think looks cool". Their designers come up with concepts themselves, and then get to make them happen. They aren't beholden to how it will fit on a sprue, or interchange(usually) with other odd kits or pieces. FW is everything that GW should be, only more expensive.

Honestly, cost is the number one reason I don't own more forgeworld, and it's also why there are so many pirates out there recasting them and selling them at 67% off retail.

I will say, that yes this model is 1:1 with the artwork shown in the MA book, which is nice. A few models have been that way, and most are quite cool looking(ignore that fire elemental guy).

Impressive. When things are well done (modelling and painting), there's nothing more to say.

This thing looks awesome, however I am wondering what is taking so long for the Bull Centau Tauru'k to be released.

I am hoping it's done before Gamesday USA this year so I can pick one up in person.

40k players need their Space Marines.

And I don't begrudge FW doing that, as its a hot product, its just a bummer that Warhammer Forge gets shafted to focus on 40k/30k stuff.
