Finished the first varnish and the quad gun + comm array for my Aegis Line

And here is my almost finished Wraithlord

Still have the ghost tint to put on the weapons and the sword.
The tabard is not quite done yet and will likely need some greenstuff in order to fix it decently. Basing is not done obviously, still not quite sure what kind of basing I will do.

Maybe a snow base with an IG cut in two at the waist with blood splatter.

I like the defence line, what's it made from?
The wraithlord so far looks smooth but IMO lacks depth IMO.

First time doing a Wraithlord and I agree. Maybe my colors were not spaced enough along the spectrum to notice the difference as there are actually 3 colors blended on there 4 if you count the highlights. I will see when I make my next one if I can darken a bit more the shaded areas.

As for the Aegis Defense line it is a resin kit that I got on eBay.
If you buy the quad-gun and comm-array too it comes out roughly to what you would pay for GW's Aegis Defense Line Kit.

That being said it is resin meaning brittle and needs tons of cleaning/filing but I think the results are worth it.

Oh I saw that kit before, is it worth picking up? I was thrown off a bit by the gaps it seems to have towards the bottom of it.

Tough question. I think it was worth it for me as I had a clear idea of what I wanted it to look like and thanks to Minitaire's Ghost Tint I managed to pull off the exact look that I wanted.

Question is can you live with the gaps? And can you live with the fact you will be cleaning this thing for over an hour before you start the assembly?

I also picked up another Eldar Aegis from Brush 4 Hire's Kickstarter which I think in the end will be better looking.

Hindsight being 20/20 the best bet would be Brush 4 Hire's Eldar Aegis line with this guy's Quad-Gun/Lascannon package. The resin is a bit brittle and I have yet to carry that thing around. Hope this helps.

Nice ADL but I think the Wraithlord's pose looks far too static for my liking.

I'll give them a look, thanks for that.

I love the blue colours used for the Wraithlord, I'm guessing it was airbrushed? What paints did you use?

Yes indeed most of the Wraithlord is airbrushed.

I started with a basecoat of Vallejo Jade Green (Lovely color, tried real hard to find an equivalent without success)

Then I used Minitaire Trollhide blue and used a light spray from a Zenithal position.

That blue and green blend sooo well.

I used some GW Sybarite Green for the higlights.

I airbrushed the head in Minitaire raven black but went back with a very tight pattern of Minitaire Coal and made a slight area paler where the light would hit. If you look closely just below the lend flare you can see the difference a little bit. The color ends up being a tad more greyish.

I still have the ghost tint to do on the sword and weapons.

If you like the colors you should check out the other things I made for that craftworld in plog: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/524844.page
