well this is my first real attempt of making a list with the lizard men i know its not the most competitive but its what i have hopefully it does all right on the table top. My main opponents will be high elves and vampire counts
We also have a rule in effect of no lords under 1,500 points that is why there is no slaan or will be a slaan in this point level. But any way lemme know what you all think. and if youw ant to know what models i have access too atm i can tell you so we can make this list much more effective.

Ouch that no lords rule is quite painful for lizards.

Seems fine here but some hunting packs could be very useful...

If the Razordon could march and fire, he'd be average. Since he can't, the salamander is leaps and bounds ahead. Honestly, they shouldn't be the same price.
That said, if I were shopping for them right now, I'd buy razordons. With a new book on the horizon, I'd bet salamanders get nerfed (S2 move or fire maybe) and razordons get a bit of a boost.

A few points to consider:

- I would make that Scar Vet a BSB. Also drop the crown and get some armour to protect him, easy to get a 2+ at least with scaly skin helping out.
- Hide the skink preist in the small saurus unit (if you weren't planning to already. Also give him the Plaque of tepok for a 3rd spell.
- drop the skink brave and split into 2 units of 10
- Kudos for the ancient steg, nice to see monsters on the battlefield rather than not because of undercosted cannons everywhere.

well like i said i don't have to worry about empire cannons just yet so i shall march the monsters across until the end of time. what would be the benefit of breaking up the skinks into two ten man teams?

The benefit is that you can split fire and block more enemy units, of course the enemy are slightly more likely to get +1 to starting roll.

Because it gives you 2 more mobile shooting units that can target different things rather than 1 unit of meh.

IMHO, skinks should be used as harrassers/redirecters. I think i know why you've done it so they can flank charge to support the saurus block and negate ranks?

Fair enough but that is the cold ones job.

i think you'll get more bang for your buck with 2 units of 10.

yea i did do it that way to redirect but also i was figuring 40 poison attacks is better than 20 too i will have to play both styles and see what fits my gaming method...played my first 1,000 point game today against high elves lost both times but he paid dearly and that big block helped out immensely over charged like three units in a single assault phase

2 things:

1. when you say poison attacks are you refferring to shooting? because skink CC attacks are not poisoned, only the shooting/throwing weapon is.

2. skirmishers have to rank up as soon as a charge is declared against them, so unless you are ranking up 10 wide you would not get 40 shots IIRC.
