Subject: Tips for a new Orc & Goblins player?

So a guy at my club cut me a good deal on Orcs, and now I have the following;
>60 Orc Warriors
>10 Boar Riders
>Boarboss
>2 Shamans
>Grot Shaman
>4+ Night Goblin Big Boss
>5+ Night Goblin Shaman
>Night Goblin Great Shaman
>40 Spear/Shield Night Goblins
>40Night Goblin archers
>20 Goblins w/ any weapons [what would be best?]
>20 Spider Riders
>8 Wolf Riders
>2 Fanatics, can make more if needed.
>1-3 "dragons" which can count-as Wyverns or other suitably scary mounts
>*Hopefully* a Savage Orc Shaman, I'm gunning for him in an online auction but we'll see.
Not much of an army, but its a start!
On top of this, I'm a decent enough converter and we're 100% cool with converted/scratch build stuff even at tournaments. Could add any of the following
>20-30 converted Orc Warriors (any gear)
>However many Orc or Goblin characters are needed
>any number of war machines of any type, inc. snotling wagons (just got some snotling models =D)
Anyone want to help a new player make the most out of his models?
Edit: Updated models with stuff I've purchased.

Orcs generally run well as a magical/artillery heavy army. Foot of Gork, Doom Divers and Rock Lobbas are all effective at decimating your opponents. Foot of Gork is generally best taken on an ork level 4. To that, generally run a savage orc due to the innate ward. And if you do that, you might as well take Wurrzag. This is because for what you pay for, he works out cheaper than a level 4 savage orc shaman with equivalent gear.
Then run a goblin level 1, with a scroll, and an savage orc level 1 with the shrunken head.
To that, you add savage orc big un's to mop up. About 40.
Then you run chaff chariots, minimal units of spider riders, and a blob of goblins.
next up, you add dual manglers and dual pump wagons. These are brilliant chaff drops.
Add to that 2 rock lobbas, and 2 doom divers.
That is one of the best orc lists out there. They aren't a combat army.

Foot of Gork deals with big things. Doom Divers for 1+ saves, and Rock Lobbas for infantry. I do like spear chukkas, but foot is that bit better.

Why settle for just foot though?
When going up against HE, dwarf or twin slaan, you wont be getting many of those off.
A spear chukka is allways going to fire until the moment it dies.
They are also good for removing the common eagle chaff that elves love soo much.

Really? Please don't tell me they are a gunline army as well... what the feth is up with GW and making their Orcs gak at fighting? I don't mind the shooty but if they play like Dwarves I might as well sell them now
I don't have any Savage Orcs sadly. I've wanted to field them since the moment I saw them, special rules be damned, but I gotta live off the stuff I can get for cheap or convert/build which is pretty much just standard Orcs and war machines . Unless Savage Orcs would look ok garbed up in shaman-esk robes or furs or something...

I'd not so much as say that as say that their shooting is really good because of how cheap it is, whilst still being able to take combat blocks and spending on magic and spending on monsters because of how cheap everything can turn out.

Ah ok. My 40k Orks are much the same, I base my armies around "Big Guns" batteries that aren't that powerful but are dirt cheap and so amazing for their price.

Have added a bucketload of new models, including two Skull Pass NG sets and some non-40k Dragons to use as Wyverns or something like that [100% permissible in our relaxed gaming scene]. Last week I had nothing... now I have 200+ models and am feeling kind of overwhelmed =/
Wondering in particular as to which war machines would be best, which heroes to use, and what to equip my Orcs and non-night Gobbos with. Got absolutely zero experience with O&G and like six games of 1000 point Fantasy under my belt... I know if I just choose myself I'll end up taking or making stuff that won't work for my army. If anyone has a link to a good O&G guide I'd be grateful if you could send it my way
Cheers

While OnG work best as a shooting army, there's no reason to say you can't play them as a combat army. I too don't like a shooting OnG army, so I use a mostly combat army. I only use one Doom Diver and one Rock Lobber. It's not the most competitive setup out there, but it works well enough and it's fun to play.

I'm not opposed to fielding a bunch of war machines, as long as the army does not become a gunline ~ sit there and shoot all game every game. Screw that.
I generally play my 40k Orks for 'shenanigans', which in this case is probably wizards, fanatics, and Doom Divers off the top of my head.
