Just trying to get some ideas on what to give my raptors, should I build them anti tank, cc oriented, what seems to be a good set up on them?

what is lacking in your list? Could you use more anti-infantry? If so, go flamers. Could you use some terminator killing power? if so, plasma guns, etc.

Personally, if it is not a blob of 20 then I'd give them some flamers and a melta bomb in a 5 man and call it a night.

On the sprue, in the box, plastic wrapped, and on my LGS's shelf. That's how I kit mine out. They offer zero to your army that a bike doesn't already do.

But to actually add something useful... 5man double melta deepstrikeing is probably thier most useful loadout. It's just unfortunate that terminators and bikes do the same job for, if I remember correctly, the same price with more benefits or cheaper with more benefits.

I need to return some video tapes.

Why not just use bikes then?

That's kind of the point. Raptors are the 4th best thing in the Fast Attack section of the book. The only thing worse are Warp Talons. Either you take them cheap with 5 guys and 2 meltaguns, or you don't field them at all.

You could use them with 2 Flamers and nothing else. Yes, Bikers can be a bit cheaper and tougher (but have less models). Raptors can be good if used right, which involves hiding out of LoS until they jump out. Considering that 5 bikers or 5 Nurgle Raptors are the same cost basically, you have to focus on the ability to jump over terrain. If you have advancing vehicles to hide behind, take Raptors, or if you play on terrain heavy boards. Otherwise, take bikes.

The reason I originally started a Chaos army was the old raptors models. Not the really old ones but the ones that went finecast a couple years ago.
I started buying them up on ebay before the CSM dex came out, prefering the metal ones to avoid breakages. I got 23 of them and then anxiously awaited the new codex.

When it came out I was less than thrilled. 2 points less thank a bikers(VotLW)! no special rules, just fear! No way to become troops?! Bikes on the other hand seemed awesome. Now I didnt want to be a power gamer, WAAC guy but I didnt want to get swept off the field with my new creation either. I really didnt want to go out and buy a ton of Chaos bikes, who btw arent really that interesting to paint or convert.

So I decided to make my raptors on bikes bases. This wouldnt be enough however, as they didnt have the appropriate weapons, nor bikes. So I would make them WYSIWYG by adding twinlinked bolters, bolt pistol and ccw. I would also add a bike, except instead of them riding it, they would be flying over it.

The whole unit on the left and a Chaos lord on the right, with burning brand, lightningclaw, and powerfist(hammer)

If you want to use them aggressively,
Two flamers, melta bombs, or
Two melta guns.
Keep them cheap.

Reasons to take raptors instead of bikes:
Can assault battlements (if there is room). Can be infiltrated using master of deception. Can jump meatshields and get at squishy things.

If you play on a board with little or no terrain however, sure bikes win out every time.
