We've gone Eldar crazy! Grant busts out his dual deathstar Eldar/Dark Eldar Jetseer and Beast Pack list against Israel's Tau. This is an interesting game because Israel is a veteran Tau player and Grant is a veteran Deldar alliance player. Grant didn't change his list at all and Warlocks on bikes were one of the units I was very interested to see under the new rules as they looked like they took quite a rules hit at first read through. ==Caution, adult language!==
Great vid. I'm also really interested to see your Eldar vs his.
Looks like both sides played pretty well and there was a lot of give and take. I'm not a big fan of the Seer councils, mostly because I hate keeping track of all their spells now, but they can definitely be a brutal unit. I also don't think I've ever seen two Riptides go down in one game before... that's pretty impressive.
Nice to see the Eldar alliance being such a strong force. I've been messing around with it myself a bit and really find it packs a punch.
Eldar/Deldar will be competing at the top, very strong synergy and they fill in the niche and flaws the other faction has.

I'm surprised at the result for the first close combat with the council. Witchblades are very lackluster vs vehicles compared to 5th. To get that many results vs the Tetras is way above avarage?
Thanks for posting the report, enjoyed it a lot as usual
Hey guys the tau player says he has the new tetra rules and they are 35 points each now. I tried but can't find it. Do you know where he found it. Thanks

Imperial Armour 3, the Taros Campaign, 2nd edition. In addition to the tetras, it includes up-to-date data sheets for every tau unit forgeworld produces currently. It's only about $85 usd after shipping, and easily 3x the size of a GW hardback codex. Well worth the investment.

When i first watched it that seemed off to me, too. I was thinking that vehicle penetration rolls only counted vs Walkers in close combat. While that was true in 5th edition, not so anymore. Page 76 of the BRB states that in close combat, a glance on a vehicle counts as 1 wound and a penetrate counts as 2. Therefore simply getting 3 Pens and 2 Glances would give a combat result of +8, which worked in the Eldar's favor to sweep both the riptides and the broadsides. Staying close for supporting fire backfired in this instance, and is a grim reminder to me to keep my tetras away from such possible multi-charges for that reason.
Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

Witchblades + Prescience + Empower (or multiple Empowers) + Doom = very effective against armor.
Grant's seer council had no problems dealing with my AV13 soulgrinders. They can easily take out a unit of 3 piranhas/tetras.

The video would have been a lot better if Israel's comments could have been edited out. Gay/rape jokes are just juvenile, and doesn't fit with Reecius's other, more professional battle reports.
Witchblades are in the rulebook. S:User, AP-, Armorbane, Fleshbane. Much worse against strong vehicles, but against AV10 open topped you still have a pretty good chance.
