I am trying to start a Chaos Marine warband via Dakka for the upcoming 40k MMO Eternal Crusade that is in development and will be releasing for the next gen consoles (Xbox One and PS4) and PC and am looking for like minded individuals that share an unbridled hatred for the corpse on the golden throne. If you feel this may be you then feel free to post here and include what system you will most likely be playing on and as the warband develops over the course of the next few months I will try to set up a website just for members of the warband and inform all involved to register on that site when it's done.

you can lead no problem I just wanted to start pulling players together.

Here's what I want our guild to be size and organisation wise, this is for starters and really hoping that we can grow.

Eternal crusade guild FOC

1st company
-5 man command squad
-5 man veteran/termie squad
-1 land raider

2nd company
-10 man tact squad
-1 predator/vindicator

3rd assault company
-10 man raptor squad

4th heavy company 
-10 man havoc squad
-1 land raider

5th support company
-2 hellblades
-2 land raiders
-1 super heavy (if there in the game)

would be kinda fun to do role playing and have to be your Marine.

I'd imagine that we'd be a good bit of both, but TBH I want people to be a bit serious in th RP side of things I want each person to have a character in-game with name stuff

Oh, I don't mean hardcore RP not at all sorry to seem that way. I just mean having character names small things.

As long as I can play casual, I'm in. Just my two cents, but won't it be better to organize ourselves as a single Company as opposed to one entire Chapter?

Valid point maybe we should just focus on a single company until we get more members.

Uh, no, because then they'll just look at group information, see a small number of players, and laugh. We're already Iron Warriors, devs decided.

To start out I guess it'll be better, when were big and the game is actually out only members of dakka and beta members can be 1st company!

Iron Warriors are not bad but who know what will happen with development between then and now. Maybe more legions/warbands will be useable.

At most we could have groups of people who are on at similar times and have characters that compliment each other in a group...
Oh, just to say I was thinking about playing so if I do i'll happily join this... unless it sucks or something.

Well even having squads would be good for control IE telling people whee to go during large battles.

In the future I hope for us to be both a very large force and where we put our targets on will be a mighty collision and for our chapter to not only be a dakka chapter but a public one.

I'll main Eldar when (expecially IF) the game comes out, but I'm willing to give a shot at Chaos. Prolly Raptor unless something more interesting comes along. And if they manage to replicate the raptor combat in space marine, it'll be AWESOME

If the title of this topic didn't state "Chaos Warband" I would just assume you were in the planning stages of a Loyalist Chapter.

Chaos = No chapters, no companies.

A warband is a group of most likely unrelated Traitors who come together under the banner of a powerful Chaos Warlord so they can obtain glory for themselves and one day take command of their own warband, or kill the current leader and take over.

They are called "traitors" for a reason, you won't be able to command the loyalty of all the marines under your banner since many of them will be there for their own reasons and one day your goals and their goals are going to come into conflict. Traitors have no honor and their loyalties are as capricious as the winds.

A Chaos Warband cannon be planned for as a Loyalist Chapter. Loyalty and honor only last as long as the victories and spoils of war are plenty.

Organization boils down to :

-Chaos Lord
-Chaos Lord's retinue of his MOST TRUSTED ALLIES to provide security for the lord from would be usurpers.
-A cabal of Sorcerers ( make sure they are being watched by trusted allies for duplicity among the psykers )
* Keep the cabal small and keep them distrustful of one another so they don't combine their powers against the Lord, Execute them at the first sign of defiance.
-Rank and file marines ( watch them closely, they came to you for glory and riches, they will betray you if you don't provide them with victories and trophies.
*Imprison marines whose loyalty is suspect into Dreadnoughts, do not allow them to sleep as the loyalists do - this will degrade their sanity to the point where they are mostly just death machines and will not be able to command lucid thoughts for long enough to make plans of revolt. This will also serve as a message to other would be revolts in your marines.
-Human slaves and soldiers
Keep all the special/rare weapons and armors in the hands of your most fanatical allies so aspiring champions find it harder to revolt.

Only allow your most loyal human slave/soldiers access to the heavy armor and siege weapons. Your rank and file Marines will consider it an insult for you to have them stay back from the front lines and preventing them from obtaining the glories that are rightfully theirs. Fear of the Lord and his marines will keep the human scum from turning the guns against you.
* Keep the Marines and slaves apart to prevent plots against you, such will be easy to do since your marines will think the slaves unworthy of their presence.

It's never to early to oppose the Emperor.

No but really it is never to early to start building a community of players that will when the game releases be familiar with each other and already have an established relationship.

And yes you are correct Chaos has quite a different hierarchy than that of a SM chapter.

Wrong. All Chaos "warbands" are different, merely labelled as a "warband" to widely encompass all different force-org types. Sure you'll have the raving lunatic bands led by one nasty dude, but then you'll also have groups like the Iron Warriors and Black Legion that still hold on to typical force organization.

Yeah, I'm only using an FOC for ease of command and a ranking system. What we could do is just having a lot of squads no companies and call them chaosy name like in the word bearers they call them coteries and the larger ones cabals or something like that, maybe hosts I think.
To get a ready made FOC we could be word bearers, they have a lot of unique things that make them a nice chapter. And Anybody who likes a specific god could join a squad that is dedicated to that god. I think theyre a nice choice

Either way I'm getting a bit ahead of my self, lets just get a list of everyone and a arch-type there's like to be and then a squad and so on

Good stuff, I run the first and so far only Space Marine -Vigilia Mortis. Would be great to get a rivalry going and try and get on the same server, that’s if you playing the PC version
