Green Tide means you need way more bodies. in 1500 points I would not want to hit the table without about 80-100 at 1850 think more 120 or more. Oh and good luck with those storm boyz they are very hard to use, tell us how they work out since most people dont even own them.

Looks like you barly started your force mayte, a greentide starts at 100 boyz

As for greentide one of the most important HQ's is a big mek with KFF

You think so? With so many tau and hell chickens out there I started just running to bosses. Its worked great for me and for cover I just add some grechin.

^ yeah but that's just 2 armies, for the most part a KFF mek works fine. Plus you can do stupid things with it like have the main blob of a unit 12" away and just string out a couple of boys so you have one within the 6" radius to give the whole unit cover.

And yeah, more guys is really all you need. Check ebay or something. Although in reality you could go any direction from here, not just green tide.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

This is all great info, now I do realize if I want a green tide I need a ton more boys. I am new to ork and this is what I got to start with.
Storm boys are no good or just hard to use? Kills kans worth getting?
If I don't do a green tide other then doped freak what else is there?

Big Mek with KFF works great for vehicle heavy armies, not so much for foot flogging.
Taking a Warboss, allows you to take Nobs as Troops.

If you are playing in friendly games, you should learn how to use the Stormboyz, if you are playing competitive matches, only then would I lose them. They are still fun to play even if they can get wiped out before you use them.

I would at least field 10 Loota - if you are slowly building your Army, just remember that eventually the Loota will be nerfed with "Gets Hot".

Another Warboss would be good to have, but right now I would playing in the 500 to 1k range, which would mean fielding most of your figures. The type of boyz you have matters; Slugga, Shootas, Big Shootas. I usually field only Big Shootas with a shoota squad. I rarely field Slugga. If I do field sluggas I take them as Kommandos.

Ok nice..... So if your using a foot army don't run a big Mek ? I have a war boss with attack squig and 15 nobs total. So 10 nobs as troops along side some shootas all out in the open walking up the field...... I don't see them lasting long in the 6th Ed even if it is a small game but I can give it a try and see how it works.
How about a looted wagon with boom gun cause I have a rino I'm not using and I converted it into a truck should I make it a looted wagon or a transport?

I would start with something like this for a 500 Point Game

-500 PTS
HQ Warlord/PK,Cyb,BP,Eavy,AS
Elite 5 Lootas
Troops
20 Boyz (17 Shoota Boys+2 Big Shoota Boyz,+Nob,BC,BP)
20 Boyz (17 Shoota Boys+2 Big Shoota Boyz,+Nob,BC,BP)
------------------------------
Then Add a unit or models to units to make larger lists
Current easy to use units
Gretchin..
Boyz..
Nobz with dedicated transport
Lootas..
Big Gunz-Kannon or Lobba..
Buggies
Warbikers
WarBoss
Medium Difficulty to use
Big Mek
Killa Kanz
DeffDreads
Manz With dedicated trasport
Storm Boyz
Kommandoes
DakkJet
High Difficulty
Walking Nobz
Deffkoptas
Burna Bomber
BLitza Bommer
TankBusters
Extreame Difficulty
Flashgitz

The Difficulty level has more to do with how easy it is to get the points back with them in kills..note they are all usefull in certain situations just not all

Storm Boyz are not trash ..Eventually you want Zagstruck to use them with Cost wise they are no more expensive than a Group of boyz with a dedicated transport.. the reason many no longer field them is they are competing for a Fast Slot..

Killa Kanz and DeffDreads..their tactics were easy and simple once upon a time..6th has made them more difficult ..so now they need a Big Mek with KFF or they die to easy ..

Well from my list above of what I have I can do that 500 easy and add in some nobs, burna bomber or both just to get my feet wet on how the orks play. I've played nids before so I'm some what used to the swarm tactic but I know the orks and nids are way different.
Thanks for the great advice with the storm boys and kans I will most likely not get kans but get 3 big gunz instead

of all the vehicles to take, the Battlewagon is really the only one worthwhile. I usually only take a def rolla. Your Nob Mob and Warboss can all fit, if you still have points, this is where I would put a Big Mek with KFF as well. Basically run it as far and as fast as you can. which means don't worry about shooting from it let the def rolla do that work for you, since it attacks during the mv phase with every tank shock.

Big Gunz are one of the best heavy slot choices and work very well with Tide Armies..(Cheaper to build from the bitz box that to buy dollars wise) ...

ehh I always have leftover Bitz from this build or that build and Big Gunz are just a Tank Barrel, Mortor, or Beam Gun on wheels/tracks/skids.. with some armour plating (plasticard and ork glyphs).. most of the ones I have seen are scratch built ..looks better and is more satisfying from a modllers perspective ..remember size wise it just has to be able to fit on a 60mm base .and a grot should be able to look over the top ..(basing is not a requirement but it gives you the appropriate size) and a box of grotz per squadron and your good ..take a look at the tutorials and under painting and modelling lots of folk scratch build the gunz ..

zzap is okay anti termie ..but mediocre elsewhere..Lobby is great anti horde..

So look thru those SM Bitz..and see if there is anything that looks like it might work with soem monor modifications ..(note the "official zzap" is a modified Lascannon..the Lobba and Kannon are just gerneric small tank barrles Lobbas...an IG Mortor would be just as good ..as would a multiple rocket launcher ..(ie unused whilrwind turret)

worse comes to worst, you can go for broke and just field Grots and 'Herds. The key to any horde is the fact that you are running so many models, your opponent just can't shoot them all. Carry a few big ticket items to support them and boost them, but the rest of your army should be as many bodies as you can fit in.

"There is a cancer eating at the Imperium. With each decade it advances deeper, leaving drained, dead worlds in its wake. This horror, this abomination, has thought and purpose that functions on an unimaginable, galactic scale and all we can do is try to stop the swarms of bioengineered monsters it unleashes upon us by instinct. We have given the horror a name to salve our fears; we call it the Tyranid race, but if is aware of us at all it must know us only as Prey."

That's the plan it just so many models to paint but this is a long term army since I have three others to play while I build the orks up but I will have a boat load of boys and I like the idea of grots and lootas for support along with some nobs. Oh yea
