Not many details at the moment but pretty crazy to think he is somehow involved in a murder. Will update as more details come out.

I wonder what the charge will be? And from what I'm hearing on the NFL channel is that the arrest at his home was a complete surprise to him.

Obstruction of justice most likely, with possible accessory to murder charges from all the rumours floating around

This story has only been in the news for about a week, LOL. News outlets said last week that an arrest was likely.

Seems like they took lots of evidence from his home this week just for an obstruction charge. I mean there was something like 19 bags of evidence it makes me think they may have found something more substantial if they are just suddenly arresting him unexpectedly at his home.

According to the ESPN updates on my phone he's now been cut by the Patriots, could be interesting if he's found innocent/not charged

I don't think they would have publicly arrested him on national TV if they didn't have some type of evidence against him that is pretty air tight.

The police didn't arrest him on national TV, they just arrested him, the national broadcast part is the news companies waiting outside his house for a week. I don't think there was a way to arrest him without the media being there to feed.

This is super sad. I wish the best for Hernandez but if he did it or helped he deserves to see jail time. This last week and a half ordeal was so rediculous from a media standpoint. He supposedly had an arrest warrant issued early last week that apparently the good decided not to serve till today? Thanks mediots.

I'll be interested to see the charges, and what the outcome is.

Final charge is Murder in the first and he s being held with no bail. SCREWWWEEEEEDDDDDDD!!!!!

Good lord. Hernandez definitely seeing jail time. Could anyone hear the prosecutor when he was talking about how Hernandez didn't cooperate allowing the accomplices to flee? I thought that's what he said but I'm not sure. If the other 2 disappear and whatnot it seems like the evidence is pretty circumstantial. But f they're cooperating the case seems pretty slam dunk.

What a crappy situation that leaves a family without a son/brother and a new father looking down a life sentence for making a terrible choice. So like 30 NFL players have been arrested since the Super Bowl.

Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu were sitting in a car at a traffic light in downtown Boston on July 16, 2012 when they were murdered shortly after leaving a nearby bar. To date, the double-homicide has gone unsolved, but investigators are now looking into a new potential suspect: Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez.

According to a report from FOX 25 in Boston who talked to an unnamed source, investigators are currently looking at Hernandez in connection to the killing of Furtado and Abreu.

This is just getting stranger and stranger.

Not really, considering that 3 people may have been murdered by this guy... I would say that yes, the world as a whole is unaffected, but there are most certainly people affected by his actions (not including the 3 people he may have murdered).
