For example, Secret Weapon Miniatures have a range called "Alien Temple" which I would like to use for my Necrons.

I have tried asking them, but they didn't paint them and have lost contact with the painter. Their response was very fast and polite and their advice based upon their general knoweldge was fine for the green (paint dark green then a lighter green using the side of your brush) but my problem is the actual black stone. If I leave it plain black it just looks dull and unfinished. If I drybrush (I've tried a couple of greys and greens) it looks dusty and/or scuffed. I'm just not sure what to do. I am, clearly, no painting expert by the way.

The bases I mean and the look I'm hoping for are at the link below:

I'm not certain that it is actually black. I think it might be a very dark grey. Compare the surface area to the edges and it looks lighter. The combination of a contrasting darker color and some matte varnish can add a degree of depth without doing anything fancy.

I would try something like Vallejo Model Colour German Grey and put a black wash/ glaze over it - that would give it enough colour variation to look natural, pure black would likely be too flat and dark.

1:1 chaos black:macharius standard grey. I used as a skin tone on my bushido Nian model and I've decided it's now my standard 'not black' colour, wash with black/brown to taste.

A very, very dark green will have a similar look and will look good with the green highlights.

I would suggest doing a German Grey with a mix of black. If you wanted a bit of a green tint to it I would go with USA Olive Drab and black mix.
