Excellent Stuff! Great work Lego and Yak! I have watched and participated in multiple forums over the past few years. And Dakka has always seemed the best in presentation, quality of posts, uniqueness and awesomesauce extras.

Side note for the graphs rather than show the graphs and all of 'connect-the-dot' lines use the trendline, since you are showing trends.

Numbers don't lie people, kind of makes certain hate threads made by disgruntled former Dakka members all the more delicious seeing how their complaints and poisonous spite to keep others away from here fail miserably before the funky power of mobile reading pooping Dakkites like us.

Now back on topic. I've always said that the greatness of Dakka are the mods that are in here (include Yak and Lego of course), and the talent of the people that come to this wonderful site that share their ideas and concepts that make this place so strong.

Like Grimskul commented... Numbers don't lie.

Thanks for the graphs, lego! It's nice to see we are moving up in the world! I'm going to +1 the idea of revisiting that graph. If kronk is willing to break out the abacus and make it happen I say let him! Of maybe he could get his friend Kronk Kronkington to it. Odd, though, that I've never seen the two of them at the same time...

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I am thankful for our Dakka overlords.

My experience with Dakka has mainly been that of a lurker, but I've been a fan of the site since the early 2000s due to our local players speaking highly of it (my friend Bill used to go by the handle DaemonLordAngron, if any of you remember him). When the site was completely rebuilt I kept checking back to see when it was up again, thus being user profile 132 (oh, how I wish our esteem on the forum was modeled after the Stonecutters...).

Recently I’ve tried to post more and am getting closer to finally entering a triple digit post count. I even entered the Two Tickets to Paradiso painting comp (and am firmly in the lowest third, giving me much to aim for if I enter the next comp). I even started a hobby blog to try and track my progress with Infinity and Malifaux and other random projects.

I hope to get around to ACTUALLY playing some mini games again as I’ve mainly been collecting and lurking here as an expression of my love of the hobby.

Keel up the good work, guys!

I really, really want a Dakka phone app with optimized browsing. Different browsers I've used all display the forum sub-optimally, requiring me to either zoom to a very wide webpage (my Droid default browser), or wait for a long time for it to sorta wrap the text within my phone's screen (Firefox). Are there any plans for a dakka phone app in the future?

It's fairly shocking to see how far warseer have dropped. When I joined dakka, warseer was the biggest on the block by a country mile.

Warseer constantly banning people that don't toe the company line probably have something to do with it. You're not a real Warhammer poster, unless you've been banned from warseer like half a dozen times.

Yep, Warseer's moderation policy is discussion-destroying rather than discussion supporting. Therefore, less discussion goes on there.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

If you look at the graph the start of the decline of Warseer is around 2008/2009 when the Mods started calling themselves "The Warseer Inquisition" and threatening people with the "Ban Hammer" for minor infractions ( there was also a change to the senior mods at the time with the unpopular one's taking a more active role and the lenient ones leaving altogether )

We dont serve no Mint Julip here !!
