Speaking of language.
Don't do like in WoW and create a language barrier between the factions. In fact, don't do anything WoW does.

Oh, there's plenty of hilarious, mostly Matt Ward, driven fluff (straight from d4 chan Wiki)
- A whole Order of Sisters turned to Chaos by one Slaaneshi Keeper of Secrets
- A whole Order of Sisters was mind controlled by one chaos Psyker
- Another whole Order mind controlled by one chaos Psyker.
- A strike force of Celestians and an Inquisitor being killed, cannibalized, and sacrificed by the Sons of Malice Astartes chapter for disturbing their victory rites and falsely accusing the chapter of heresy
- Three whole Orders killed by the Space Wolves Astartes chapter when they try to inquire about that ship full of unarmed priests the Space Wolves shot down earlier
- 99% of sisters in the galaxy vanishing due to to a retcon in the two whole paragraphs of fluff given them by the 5e rulebook
- A whole shrine-world of Sisters killed by Chaos Dreadnought. Said dread shrugs off meltas, meltabombs and multiple Exorcist volleys, a Living Saint even gives up her divinity to stop it, and fails. It's destroyed instantly when a Marine throws a hammer at it.
- An entire convent of Sisters killed by Grey Knights, their bodies violated and their blood applied to the Grey Knights' armor, so the Grey Knights can be immune to demonic corruption, even though they were already immune to all forms of demonic corruption, due to the fact that they are the Imperium's daemon killers.
- Necron Phaeron Trazyn the Infinite keeps the head of Sebastian Thor mounted on his wall like a Deer Trophy

That list isn't really something to use as reference, it has lots of hyperbole and some inaccuracies. Also, Matt Ward was only involved with two items on that list.
- A whole Order of Sisters turned to Chaos by one Slaaneshi Keeper of Secrets
The Order was a Dialogus Order, and even then not all of them fell to it. This same Order went on to completely screw that Keeper od Secrets, by the way.
- 99% of sisters in the galaxy vanishing due to to a retcon in the two whole paragraphs of fluff given them by the 5e rulebook
Don't think this is true either. Their own codexes put their numbers quite low too. And 99% pure hyperbole.
Nope. According to somebody who's listened to that audiobook, the Living Saint is what weakened the Dreadnought enough for the Marine to kill it.
And anyway, there's plenty of good portrayals of the Sisters. One need only look at the various SoB codexes or BL books that have done their research to see that.
Anyway, as Melissa said, it'd be easy to avoid Sisters and Marines buddying up too much. Just give them plenty of conflicting objectives to build tension between them.

In fairness the only info we have says there was minor skirmishing before the Ecclesiarchy backed down so there was probably minimal loss of life on both sides...

Well, they announced that Chaplains will be in the game and Psykers in general, so that means Librarians, Wolf Priests and whatnot. They're gonna probably be unlockable later in the tier line/talent tree/*insert random progression method here*. And since Psykers will probably be able to one-shot lightly armored troops (in connection to the TT), it makes sense that they wouldn't be available at the start. Unless they make the Chaplain something along the lines of a buffer only, which would be boring, no matter the fact that he can melee as well as your average SM. It does make sense for Eldar to have them earlier, since they rely more on Psykers and fragile elite troops.

Why is it that when people disagree they feel the need to bring age into it? For the record I played vanilla and BC, and yes, lost interest in it once I reached level 70. That doesn't mean I'm going to imply anyone who didn't similarly lose interest is somehow immature, addicted, or easily entertained. Belittling those who hold views at odds with yours doesn't help your argument at all. I look at the facts. Subscription numbers are on the decline but it remains the most successful MMORPG in todays world of F2P models and 'WoW killers' coming out every other month. Anyone remember WAR? It was hailed as the end of WoW, and it barely dented subscription numbers before servers began merging and they slumped to <5% of what Blizzard was boasting.
More on topic: If you don't like 'kids' playing your adult games, you should be aware this F2P component of Eternal Crusade is going to bring them out in droves. You can bet global chat is going to be swamped with 'HODOR' and 'WAAAAGH'.
People need to take off their chunky black framed glasses and get over the WoW hate. If Eternal Crusade is half as successful as WoW it'll be a good thing for all of us.

This Transmission was edited by the Ordo Malleus due to heretical content. Stay safe, The Emperor protects.
Personally, I have no problem with the F2P option since they're all be Orks (a-hole, I know), but as long as it fits the lore, I don't mind, even if I'd choose to play their faction. Which I will probably try since I intend to pay for the game and unlock all the content anyways. As for success rate, EVE Online is doing fine with only its hardcore players, so Eternal Crusade will manage if the devs live up to their promises. Hell, less spam on the world chat never hurt anyone...

Currently playing Firefall - if the 40k MMO becomes anything like it, we're at a good start. Early beta, of course, with a lot of problems, but potential to be an awesome game.

I suspect they'd be fairly similar to how Titans work in EvE. They require a vast amount of resources, deal horrendous amounts of damage to a massive area, but are unwieldy and vulnerable from a concentrated enemy attack because they have a minimum range. It's therefore a really good idea to protect them like a walking objective.

I really hope that Titans and super heavies aren't the only public works projects realms/factions can partake in. Everyone follows a God in this game, and building monuments in their name inside the capital would in my mind be pretty epic.

Dear Fans,
You guys know your Ork poop very well!!
You are making my life hard in trying NOT to reveal so much....... so regarding Orks chat and/or in Game voice!!
I will only tell you that your last 2 pages suggestions....... are just the beginning of what we want to do.
My pet peeves is immersion. I want you to FEEL the game. If you choose Orks, I want you to become one and I want other Factions to see you as One.
Sooo!!!!
We’ve got our Gargantz an’ we’ve got our weapons. Wot ain't we got? We ain’t got anyfing for target practice iz wot! So I'll tell you wot we're gonna do. We’re gonna give da Humies a taste of ‘ot metal death is wot. We’s gonna take Big Gork and Big Mork ‘ere an’ we’s gonna stomp Hummie!

Maybe it's an oddly specific thing to get excited about, but I am slightly pumped for the voice acting in this game. Really loved the voice acting in the Dawn of Wars, so I'm hoping to get something just as characterful here. The voice acting we've heard on Eternal Crusade's site was very good, and Miguel's focus on characterising the factions well is also promising.
Also, he mentioned Gargants. Subtle hint?

Found something fun. ItmeJP over on twitch and youtube does D&D sessions every week, he's starting dark heresy this saturday.
The lead map/level designer for this game is going to GM it.
Players will be ItmeJP, TotalBiscuit, InControl and DJWheat. I'll be watching it live and knowing that JP and TB are there I'm sure they will be sneaking in some questions too.
If you want to watch it this saturday it's at www.twitch.com/itmejp and VOD's will be going onto youtube (in 30min snippets daily) over on his youtube channel of the same name.
I believe they planned to start around 7PM eastern time.
So yeah, nice opportunity to get a better look at one of the team members and his familiarity with the universe.
