Cheers, Its the forgeworld shotgun kit, given that the best thing in a zombie apocalypse seems to be projectile at shot range the entire team is auto pistolling or shotgunning with a small display of lasguns mounted on a wall nearby (when I get it sorted).

I made some progress on the sergeant, the original arm fell victim to quite a bad break when I dropped him, however the new arm is more ornate swordwise:

I also got distracted with painting a side project:

The guy manning the gun looks a little to relaxed. If i was shooting a fifty cal at an on coming horde of zombies i would have th O-it face.

Haha awesome. My hatred of lasguns runs deep, my guard army has none, they all have AK's lol but yes, shotguns are best in a zombie apocalypse!

I just need to get a wiggle on and get it ready in time now. Need to average a model a day in order to hit the deadline now since I keep getting distracted/

I like to think its grim determination coupled with certain defeat. Mix in a little contemplation of adopting a new god in his final moments

Latest creation, needs to be weathered, decaled and bloodied but getting there.

For those that have played halo three I think you may remember one of the privates in the first level having a nervous breakdown cuz of all the zombie aliens. I think you should have something/someone like that (having a breakdown). Also I bet this is to late, but from a narrative perspective wouldn't it have been cool to subtly color the imperial corner of the board a little less green and a little more drab stone to show that the scary undead influence doesn't affect our noble heroes? Anyway I hope you win.

PS; what kind of a diorama has no spehss mehreens?
pps: also add a transition highlight on the above guys' shoulder-pad. It looks stark.

I think had I done the diorama over again I would have done more lighting effects on the board, be it shadowy corridoors leading to a single light illuminating the heroes, or rot throughout the hallways and a more pristine defense. I may look into adding rust pigment to the corridoors on the way in but thats still just a maybe. One thing I had wanted to do but would have taken alot more work would have been to drill out the wall mounted lights and use red LED's to light the corridoors, especially if i could have had them dimming and lighting up to show low power. Sadly thats another project that wont make it into this one.

PS - A guard one
PPS - Yeah I noticed that in the picture, I need to go back and touch up the pad and add a little blood and gore to the model so thats an easy fix.

Here is where I am thus far, the corner the "heroes" occupy isnt fully painted yet, I still need to do metalwork and detailing once I have positioned all of the models and accessories. Thats now 5 of the 8 guys painted (standard bearer, casualty and servitor still to go) and then the board to finish up hopefully within a week/week and a half, leaving plenty of time to get my zombie on.

If you have access to Vallejo model air:rust, i suggest giving the edges and centres of your rust effect a quick dry-brush with it for realism.

Thanks, always great to hear positive feedback!

Its been a slow week (or busy one depending on perspective), work has me on late evenings every day so my hobby time has hit a stall (kids up pre-work, so tired cant see straight post work). I actually get a day off on friday so that seems to be board finishing time, Istill havent done any detailing or highlighting on the main room because my "heroes" distracted me for a bit. I really need to get that buttoned up within the next 2 weeks to leave me ample zombie time.

On equally hobby related news I'm working on getting one of the new Lizardmen monsters (the giant tortoiseish one) to build up an Ork looted "wagon" with a big cannon, updates for that might pop in and out of here between the Diorama work.
