That came up in the comments section of the update, in a hypothesised conversation between Jakes and Sturgis.

I think we'll hit Retribution - if only just. But I don't see getting anything after that. It sucks - because I really have liked watching replays in other games. Hopefully we'll see the last 3 renders before the campaign ends - and maybe PP will have some sort of surprise for us to spur some pledging.

We're still gaining backers at a steady clip - they just don't have anything to throw extra money at.

Soon as they decide to pull their finger out and give us prototypes of the remaining exclusive models + a complete shipping costs list (i.e. one which doesn't exclude Australia) I will pledge. Quite simple really.

Aren't we 'rest of the world' for shipping? If not then I'm worried about how much we'll be costing...

edit:
Why is international shipping so expensive?

Unfortunately, we must list one rate to cover all possible shipping locations in the world, which of course defaults to the highest.

No we are included, just not by name. See, one problem solved

Considering it costs nearly $20 to send even a tiny package to/from the US, I'd dare say we were probably the bench mark that they were looking at when deciding the prices.

That said, combine orders with others around, and suddenly it's a whole lot cheaper It's what I'm doing, and because the guy I'm throwing in with is getting the war chest, I'll get all the extra digital bonuses on my extra copy of the game. Win-Win.

Oh I wasn't meaning to complain about the price, I meant if we weren't included in the 25 dollar thing would we be even more, then found out that we were so it was about as expected.

And why would I let someone else get in on my order? It's all for me! (and I don't have any friends interested in a digital copy of the game)

I'll admit that I really don't care about cutscenes. They are time-consuming and costly to make, so I more than understand their decision to keep them as a stretch goal, rather than an integral part of the original plan. Personally, I'd rather the time and resources be spent on something else, but there it is.

Now, AB possibly coming on board, THAT's good news.

Bernard, float over here so I can punch you.

Yeah have to admit that other than the initial reveal of the new JRs that the AB news has me the most excited. Hopefully if they are talking about it it means a deal is already done not just "in the works", otherwise it would be very disappointing if it doesn't pan out.

I'm expecting a last day bump - but not a huge one. There is no amazing value for people to rush in and get. There aren't even a lot of cool exclusives to snag. (Half of the cool exclusives that do exist - haven't been shown - and apparently aren't likely to be according to the latest update).

I'm still hopeful for hitting Retribution though. Maybe the warcaster mod-kits (for the game) will pop up and be a big hit. Personally I have a hard time getting super excited about pre-ordering DLC though.

Project Update #32: NEW ADD ON: EXTREME WARCASTERS!!!
Posted by Privateer Press Interactive Like

With only three days to go, we know many of you have been eager to see the new digital Add On we've been working up. The artists at WhiteMoon Dreams have been cooking up ideas for a series of Extreme Warcaster redesigns that, like the Extreme Warjacks, take the original characters and push them to the extreme limits of EXTREMENESS!

But that's not all that is included in this digital Add On pack. This is a whole visual customization kit full of details like spikes, extra armor plates and back-banners that you can use to trick out your warjacks, as well as honors and campaign badges that you can apply to the 'jacks to show their unique history of service in the battles for the Iron Kingdoms.

The Add On will feature an Extreme Warcaster for each of the four core factions: Cygnar, Khador, Protectorate of Menoth and Cryx. Note that there are no in-game performance different to the characters, these are aesthetic changes only.

GROUND-ZERO SIEGE
This alternate look for Major Brisbane (aka Siege) harkens back to his affiliation with the Trenchers, adding a helmet, armored coat and various other gear to his kit. He'll also get a redesigned rocket launcher, and this is where Siege totally goes over the top: each of his rocket explosions will create a mini mushroom cloud, like tiny tactical nukes, and every impact of his awesome hammer will cause a dynamic explosion!

RED RAGE BUTCHER
As if the Butcher could get any more ferocious looking, this redesign taps into his berserker nature and his history of unrestrained slaughter. We'll be covering the Butcher's armor with additional spikes, replete with impaled limbs and skulls from his most recent carnage fest. Dripping with gore from head to toe, the Extreme Butcher will leave a trail of blood, soaking the earth with every step he takes.

MENOTH'S GLORY KREOSS
Re-imagined as the shining champion of the Protectorate, Kreoss will be redesigned with additional exhausts on his power plant that radiate a luminous aura around him. His knight-like armor will be inset with multiple Menofixes that glow from within with his holy radiance. And wherever he strides, the heavenly light from above will shine upon him to light his path and inspire the hearts of the faithful who follow him.

DRAGON TOUCHED ASPHYXIOUS
Infused with the empowering blight of the Dragon Father, the original Iron Lich, Asphyxious, will be redrafted with a distinctly Cryxian draconian theme. Outfitted with dragon scales and spines and carrying a wicked mechanika scythe, his most striking feature will be a pair of mechanical wings that hang like a cloak around his shoulders only to snap open and spread out when he moves or attacks.

As this Add On is something we have conceived of exclusively for our Kickstarter backers over the last week, we're very early in the ideation process for what these characters will look like. Included in the Add On graphic are some early sketches, but these are not final. We'll continue to refine these new warcaster redesigns and will share the concept art and the digital models as they become available. The Add On will be delivered along with your copy of WARMACHINE: Tactics when the game launches.

THANK YOU
As always, thank you for you continued support as we steam towards the finish line of this amazing Kickstarter! It's been an incredible month and we are deeply grateful for the opportunity you have given us to make WARMACHINE: Tactics.

My EXTREME thanks,
Matt Wilson

True. There's already a thread on the PP forums about that.

It wouldn't be 10 for 4, though. Asphyxious and Butcher would cost more by
virtue of the model size.

They could have done them for minis at $10-$15 each and people would have snapped them up. I'm only marginally interested in the actual computer game, and like I imagine a large number of those pledging this KS for me is about early access to the 4 models I want.

They look pretty awesome, though I have to say I've never been much of one for online bling. I do know that virtual bling in things like DOTA and Team Fortress 2 that it can be a huge money spinner.

Yeah, but they could do them as a general release and get ~$10-$15 a pop for the bling kits as well, and sell a lot more of them to a lot more people (As big as the kickstarter is, it's still a very narrow segment of PP's customers). And they could THEN, if they chose, put that money towards the game anyway, as they're already funding a fair chunk of it directly.

I'm saying that while they could get that kickstarter total to go up if they wanted, there's really no point if they could make more money by doing other things - the kickstarter exclusives they have already are enough to tempt a lot of players over to pledge on the game, but they'd get diminishing returns by putting up more minis as most who would be tempted over by minis already have been, while also losing out on core business products.

Just remember, making money to fund the game is the objective here, not driving the kickstarter funding counter higher.

For physical model kits? You'd be looking at a complete redesign and resculpt, given how those specific models are constructed (Siege in particular would be basically impossible to add anything to). Probably $30+ each, given, the general size of the models, more if they were limited release kickstarter rewards.

That's why the phrase "custom mod kit" had everyone thinking they were physical. They could have been cheap $10-15 - for a new head/weapon/etc to slot onto the existing warcaster kit (therefore actually increasing sales outside the KS too!)

Basically - what they're doing for Sturgis, or like the metal add-on components for the new character jacks (but for Warcasters). Had they gone that route we'd be arguing over what the $3m stretch goal was going to be ...

They wouldn't have had to have been a KS exclusive kit. Like Schmpadi said, just something to variant the existing plastic non-Cyriss Warcasters (Kreoss, Stryker, Denny, Sorscha, Kaelyssa), that could easily be released in general later would have had the dual (tri?) effect of raising their KS total which they obviously would like to see done, making them long term money as a general release down the road, and , and increasing current sales of kits with the plastic casters. Saying that people who are tempted by minis are already pledging isn't really an argument since as an addon it would be more how to get those people pledging additional money. Imagine if that initial group of backers that pledged to the initial goal (I'll just use the Kicktraq number for the first two days which is 5086) had something to spend another $15-$65 dollars on? That's another 76-330k just from that group.

And that money mostly goes to fund the game since this could be a product that would continue to make the tabletop game part of the business money over the long term, recouping the initial investment to create through it's general release.

I don't see them going for ten to fifteen dollars, though, which
is what people are posting they would be willing to pay. They're
trying to raise money for the video game, not just cover
development costs for minis. They'd have to be twenty usd
like the journeymen, and more for gassy/butcher.
