Not sure if this has been asked before but this place seems a good place to ask. Is it possible for one's character to dual-wield in the RPG? As in with a Plasma Pistol in one hand and a Bolt Pistol in the other (yes, just like Cypher)?

You might want to get this moved to the RPG section, you will get more responses there. Hit the yellow triangle to get it moved.

Also in RPGs, I would guess its perfectly possible but I would imagine that there would be To Hit penalties with possible skills for those proficient in dual wielding.

Indeed.

so off we go ..

Yes, twoweapon wielder (Balistics) with ambidextrous, with gunslinger can allow you to make 2 attacks on 2 targets with 2 pistols...you can also make a single attack with 2 pistols on 1 target with another talent which names evade me.

You can certainly duel wield items. How well you do duel wielding depends on what combination of Talents you have. If you've got nothing special, then it's going to be -20 To Hit with your on hand and -40 To Hit with your off-hand.

Adding things like Ambidextrous and Two-Weapon Wielder makes things better and better, with the best result being -10 To Hit for both hands.

Gunslinger makes the penalty drop to -0.

We're both wrong.

Gunslinger is -10. Gunslinger + Ambidextrous is +0, which I forgot about.

I did say that you need all 3 to get +0.

I got a lot of yak for going with those skills in our less than action oriented RT sessions, but damn it, dual-wielding a pair of bolt pistols is worth it!

Even better when you get the proper skills to wield both a pistol and sword in a fight.

For extra points, try and get quickdraw as well, best skill out there for dual-wielders of any sort IMHO.

I can't remember the name, but there is a talent for firing with two guns at two targets who aren't close to each other (I think normally you can only shoot at two diff people if they are within 5-10m of each other). Also, who says you have to duel wield pistols? Get yourself a pair of recoil gloves and go in with a pair of plasma guns or something. It removes the -20 penalty for one-handing basic weapons.
