I m preparing myself for 1350 tournament with some detachment limits, namely 0-2 hq 0-6 troops 0-2 elite 0-2 hs 0-2 fa.

My current list consist of 2 d.lord with mss and sw, 2x6 wraiths with 1 whip coil each 2xa.barge 2x5 nw in scythe and 6 footslogging warriors.

Is it wise to ditch 1 d.lord 2x wraiths whip coil and barge and go for overlord with sw and ws and 5 deathmarks with despairtek in scythe?

Or its better to have pure wraithwing though?

Your list is good just played a game with your list but at 1750 with more wraith and more barge.

I tabled a tau list because I had first term and had some ridiculous charge rolls of 7-11 and got to the gun line with my 18 wraiths and killed 4 units of fire warriors and weathered 100 S7 missile shots before and it allowed my flyers to come in.

It's great list but would have problem if ray had first turn then say bye bye to your wraith.

Gonna test out it with a more close combat army, necron can deal with funkiness because of the fast moving units but my flyers did not survive the broad sides lol, 3 came in first turn all had to evade and even that 1 got shot down.

Wraithwing is still good, not as much as it used to be, but still good.

Most tourneys are full of adl/qd and with tau and eldar both being very shooty armies, you can have some issues.

With all that said, if I were running this I would leave it as a wraithwing.. simply because once you cut the AB wraiths and lord your starting with a much weaker force on the board.. you pretty much have to hide till you get your flyers on or risk them chewing you up.

@Marthike youre right tau is difficult matchup for wraithwing. But maybe at this point level on smaller boards maybe Im gonna manage to assault Tau and wipe out some of shooting things.

I think its key to be able to go first which means that they gonna have less time to shoot, multiple charges are important since you can tie up a couple of units in cc, they gonna overwatch all together so it doesnt matter. And then its meaningful to kill marketlights, or reduce their quantity.

@Roci yup youre right i think, there are more dangerous units in wraithwing for enemy to deal with. Im gonna probably choose wraithwing once again. I hope another tournament gonna be designed for bigger points.

Is it worth ditching 2 wraiths 2 coils and 1 footslogging warrior to provide another night scythe? Or it would be better to have more wraith bodies?

This.

Also, There is no real reason to take an overlord (other than for the Despairtek) because he isn't going to do squat for a 5 man warrior squad (although they may act as wound soaks for your overlord). That 6 man warrior squad seems a little out of place - have you considered upgrading to immortals or adding and extra coil or two?

No, two troops is too few in my opinion, but I think third scythe is worth it:

D.Lord, mss, sw
D.Lord, mss, sw

5 Wraiths, Particle Caster
5 Wraiths

3x5 Warriors with Night Scythe

2 Anihilation Barge
