I need a model to convert to a fat ork warboss. Any ideas?
One of my next conversion projects is a warboss in Mega armour for my 40k orks.
Now the idea I want to go with is a big fat bellied ork with a more traditional armour style like in the medival times. I have the choice of free sculpting him obviously, but was wondering if there was something I could simply use as a torso and convert from there. This was a prilim sketch I did a while back as a base idea. But im thinking fatter with his belly out.
I had thought perhaps something from the fantasy range? perhaps one of the ogre kingdom models.

Have you checked out the fantasy ranges for ideas? Ogre kingdoms has some large gents, and I think there is a chunky gobbo that you might be able to use (although he's probably too small for what you need)

Ah thats a nice idea, just had a google and his body shape is really nice and the head too. Id reposition the arms anyway, but questions: Does he come in plastic? - as far as i could find on google he does come in plastic, which would suit for converting whats the scale on LOTR stuff compared to 40k? Would he be about the size of a warboss? perhaps the AOBR one?
The ogre kingdom models are looking really good. All il need do I think is remove/lower the position of the head as to put more inline with the shoulders (like the orks have) and give him a sculpt over. what about their legs? Are they stumpy enough? or bent enough? Although perhaps it would appear better if it was more like he was infact a cross breed between an ogre and an ork - hence his physical stature. Although fluff wise Im not sure how an ork from a spore would cross breed with an ogre who I assume is given birth to? Perhaps its just smething I DONT want to think about too much either
Found some links for inspiration so not totally relevant, but great conversions.

I have a friend who put ork heads on old Blob heroclix. Came out looking very orky. It was about nob size though, might be too small for a warboss. (The x-men set had bigger blobs though.)

I notice my posts seem to bring threads to a screeching halt. Considering the content of most threads on dakka, you're welcome. |

Just roll with Ogryn 2 or Fantasy Lead Belrchers and convert from there..(For Conversion I would say LeadBelchers)

I'd go with the ogre personally but if you want really huge and fat, and you're not afraid of the massive amount of work and expense. The great unclean one could work. Although it would be really massive for an ork. I always thought it looked like a zombie Ork. It would be a truly immense amount of work though.

A warhammer fantasy ogre is probably your best bet. The goblin king, or great unclean one, would be too hard to convert. If it were me, I'd just green stuff it though
