Cover saves can only be taken against Wounds, and Penetrating/Glancing hits.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

So, if the Malediction causes one of those, then yes.

So, if the Malediction causes one of those, then yes.
And only against that effect of the malediction, not the malediction as a whole.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

No saves are taken against a malediction, that's what Deny the Witch is for.

That rule does not exist.

There is no permission to take cover saves against maledictions, so yes there is no rule that prevents it... but permissive ruleset and all.
Falcon is 100% on this. You take coversaves if there are wounds inflicted but only on the wounds, to cancel the power it's DTW.

If the Malediction inflicts a wound, but doesn't deny cover, then a cover save can absolutely be taken.
To say no saves can be taken as a blanket statement is not correct.

Read what he said grendel. No saves taken against maledictions. You don't take saves against maledictions... you (might) take them against the effects but that is a different thing.

Then it's a pointless statement. It's like pointing out you don't take saves against shooting, but the wounds caused by shooting.

Clarification time: You do not take cover saves against maledictions.
However, unless the malediction denies cover saves, you may still take cover saves from wounds and glancing/penetrating hits caused by maledictions, as the rules only require wounds or glancing/penetrating hits to take cover saves, there is in fact no requirement for them to be caused by shooting attacks.
