Actor and ex-Chicago cop Dennis Farina has died. He was 69 and died after he suffered a blood clot in his lung.

From Snatch:

Customs official: Anything to declare?

Avi: Yeah. Don't go to England.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Dude that was one of Dad's favorite actors.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
-"Don't mind Frazzled. He's just Dakka's crazy old dude locked in the attic. He's harmless. Mostly."

Gah, sad news. He was awesome in goodfellas and snatch. Even if his tv commercials were becoming cringe worthy.

Ex-cop? Explains why he played a cop so well.

Sad news indeed.

dead account

I thought my buddy was just fething around when he posted something about this on FB. He will be missed. ...Dennis Farina will be missed, not my friend. ...not that I did something to my friend. ...not saying that someone else did or did not do something or nothing to my friend...

yeah...

...anyway... I heart Dennis, he will be missed.

#1 thing I remember him from is being the dad in Stealing Harvard. Terrible movie, fun character. He will be missed.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Mesopotamia. The Kingdom Where we Secretly Reign.

My favorite movie he was in was Get Shorty.

God he was hysterical in that.

Don't forget Crime Story, one of the best shows on T.V. In the 80's.

Isn't that the series that did so poorly they had the ending being metaphor with the main good guy and main bad guy fighting each other on plane that crashed into the ocean?

It was, but it was a hell of a series I think a lot on these forums would have liked.

I saw it. Funny movie. Especially the callers into the sports radio station.

Crime Story was ahead of its time. If it had come out this decade, instead of in the 80s, it would have had the same kind of success as Boardwalk Empire or Mad Men.

It was kind of cool that some people I knew at the time had their old cars in the show.

I'm pretty sure that he wasn't in Goodfellas. I think you may be confusing him with Frank Vincent.

Thirded.

I think Michael Mann was behind it, right? Simply great opening credits.
