Farseer will probably go with the Dire Avengers. Roll twice on Runes, hoping for Fortune and Doom, and roll once on Telepathy for Psychic Shriek or maybe go for Prescience.

Fire Dragons focus whatever the Fire Prisms are having trouble with. I usually end up having them be a character killer actually, since they'll ID most multiwound foes.

I'm a fan of Dire Avengers, though I realize Guardians are slightly more powerful, however, there are definitely times where having that 4+ save is worthwhile. So I'd drop off the Guardians all in the same spot to try and clear a section while the Dire Avengers would either support the Guardians or go to their own spot and not worry about standard bolter fire.

Biggest fear is multiple fliers, but I can dish out a ton of TL'ed shots at least! Thinking about dropping one squad of Rangers and a few DAs to get an Aegis + Quadgun.

What do you guys think?

Well, I'd reconsider the Fire Prisms since Warwalkers are too good to be left home. I'd also consider underslung shuricannons for the Serpents.

Yes you definitely need the shuriken cannon for the serpents. It's an instant take, you can't negotiate with the points!

So, drop the extra dire avengers and 1 ranger squad, spend 50 of that to get 5 underslung shuriken cannons, then personally I'd get 1 unit of reserve jetbikes just for the movement (replacing the rangers as a objective taker, not camper), then with the last 15 (or 14..) points get a shuriken cannon platform for one of the guardians.

That's all I can think of, other than that it looks quite solid, idk about the defense line, you might have to drop a fire prism for that.

What weapons would you put on them? Just ShuriCannons?

And the reason I haven't fell for the "SHURICANNON EVERYTHING" hype is because I usually find myself wanting to move over 6", meaning it'd be snap shooting. Doesn't change much about shooting fliers, but otherwise it's only one extra hit.

I would dump the Rangers for a Jet bike and shuriken cannons on the Serpents.

I would upgrade the Dire Avengers to guardians as this actually saves you points!!!

I agree with Wuestenfux as usual he talks sense War Walkers are ace. For this list SL+Starcannon is your best bet on them.

How are you expecting your Farseer to not die? With a bike he can't hitch a ride and wouldn't be able to cast if he did. With my suggestions about you have saved 34 points drop his Spear (should never be within 12" anyway) and get him a mantle a 2+ rerollable cover save will mean there's little point in actually shooting at him.

Switching to Dire Avengers would only save me 14 points and I'd loose the range potential and extra armor. As I said I like them and plan on using them and I definitely think a solid mix is a good idea.

SL/StC doesn't seem like a bad idea at all... I just liked the Fire Prisms so that I can have the absolute mobility over the enemy to match my Wave Serpents, but I will definitely consider switching one or two out.

Jetbikes are Very Bulky, meaning they take up 3 transport slots. Meaning the Farseer can fit into a Wave Serpent with Dire Avengers (won't fit with Guardians), but still gains the mobility if he needs to break off, vastly increases his ID level, and gives him a slightly better shooting profile. He would be able to cast the power TLing his squad and hop out and cast Psychic Shriek (or another witchfire power). Although, the Mantle of the Laughing God on him is a great idea, Tau Markerlights could quickly ruin him. Nevertheless, I might switch for that!

Yes bikes take up 3 slots but they still can't get into transports. Only Infantry are allowed see the BrB page 79.

He can fit perfectly behind a Wave Serpent against Tau just be careful to kill all MLs before he pops his head out. The Dire Avengers swap saves you 15 points then the Rangers swaps saves you another 19 points.

I was only suggesting dropping 1 Fire Prism for 1 unit of WW. You don't need more than 2 Prisms.

Ahhh I thought they had added Very Bulky just so that you could put them into normal transports! Definitely going for Mantle then.

Another option could be adding in a 6th Wave Serpent (yes... I have 6. I'm a bad person). This would give me that mobile 5th troops choice while adding in yet another Wave Serpent and keeps me at the mobile AV12 wall.

I prefer the first of those 2 lists. Looking a lot better now. I would drop the extra DAs from the squads as you only need 5 then you can afford Starcannons on the guardian squads. Ups their threat level even more.

^^^^^^^^Except I prefer shuricannons on the guardian squads since they're cheaper and we all love bladestorm.

I second, take out the extra DAs and bring shuricannons instead.

Bright lances would probably be the best for the War Walkers. Your AT isn't up there with your AI.

You're a bit low on AA...Dunno can you really rely on Wave Serpents to do that?

Your farseer can't really utilise those 2 guides to help anything...Unless, you swap the scatter lasers on the GUARDIAN wave serpents and replace them with shuriken cannons or EMLs. Then you can guide both the wave serpents and the guardians inside it for 'tons of damage.'

Agree.

I find serpents are actually a viable AA. 12 TL shots should net you 4 hits, with just on serpent. They work wells or me.

Actually for this list they are better left at home. With everything else being AV12 with Holo-Fields, Walkers will just get blasted right off the board. Better keep it consistent and force the opponent to work for his kills with all mech being that tough.

Well, let the enemy shoot the Warwalkers. This will eventually keep your Serpents longer alive.
In the recent team tournament (our team = 1000 pts Eldar + 1000 pts DE), I fielded 3 Warwalkers with dual scatter lasers. With guide or prescience the number of hits is amazing.
