Sometimes, late at night when i am bored at work, I find the random locked thread that is just full of gold. The drama, the laughter, the tears we shared together.

I think Dakka needs a "View Locked Threads" option to go along with "Recent Threads" and "Exalted Threads!"

I would be so very down for that.

Or we should make a'Dakka Archive' sub-forum, where all locked threads and threads that were great awesome are moved to.

I'd be down for that idea as well, with people being able to vote for the most hilarious threads. We got some really shiny golden poo piles

This rather misses the point of why those threads would have been locked.

The last thing we want to do is encourage that sort of behaviour by drawing attention to it.

While I would greatly enjoy such a feature, I do have to agree with Insaniak on this one. Though my only gripe would be, have you seen how many boring threads get locked? Not all are like the Baneing thread.

I'm pretty sure most locked threads are necro's, at least from my experience. Maybe it's different in the OT but I don't see the need for a sub-forum full of locked threads discussing tactics and rumours from 2008.

You're missing the point Bryll. The only threads people are interested in are, like OP said, those filled with gold.

Those threads that have a spelling/grammer faux-pa so hilarious that it causes the thread to spiral into off-topicness on a monumental scale.
(For reference: the baneing thread, the thread that started "CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT CARRIER", or the ever amusing "chaos is begin to grow".)
Or you know, threads were people just rage quit in an excellent fashion.

No one cares about old tactic or fluff discussion. I doubt any of the OT threads that get locked would qualify either for that matter. They normally get locked due to arguements or other mundane reasons.

A dedicated person could compile a list and make an article about it.

It would be reasonably hard to find (after awhile) unless the url was given out (amoung like minded but otherwise responsible people)
