I finished making a Blood Raven Space Marine costume. I posted build pics in my Dakka P&M Blog thread:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/526769.page

I wore it at Anime Expo 2013, an annual Anime convention that takes place in Los Angeles over July 4th weekend.

Here's a picture of me on in costume on Day 2 of Anime Expo 2013. Picture taken by Hoa Jessie Cao Photography.

Another picture of me on Day 2. This one was taken by Cesar Vivid Photography.

On Day 3, I added a front grip to my Bolter, wore a ski mask to hide my neck, and turned on the green LED lens in my helmet. Here's a picture taken by my friend Nate.

Here lies the parts to my costume.

Comment if you like and feel free to post questions.

I'll have to admit I've seen better, however I can count the number of completed suits I've seen on one hand so...

GREAT JOB!

The Helmet, Torso and Bolter are the best pieces in the set. I like your solution to the boot/height issue. Usually I see them as stilts with the boot attached to the base.

Well done, this looks great!

I'm trying to work out the size difference between the gloves and brown shoes. Are the gloves really big?

Thanks!

I'm well aware there's better suits out there. This was my first time and if I had more time, I would have done a better job hiding seams.

Henrik Pilerud's Blood Angel Sternguard is top notch and in my opinion, the best Space Marine costume out there! Be sure to check out his work on his facebook page:

Initially, I wanted to use dry wall stilts, but I discovered it was difficult balancing.

My shoe size is US 10.5" and I used hockey gloves. Yes, the gloves are really big.

That's pretty darn cool. How long did it take for you to make it?

Thanks!

It took me one and a half months to complete. A lot of it was trial and error. There's still a lot I need to fix and improve.

Looks cool. Maybe something black around your neck, looks a bit vulnerable

It would be hot, but you should see about getting a paintball neck sleeve. That would cover your neck well between the helmet and the chest plate. Also, are you going to add iconography at some point?

That one you linked, op, is insane. However, yours is still pretty darn awesome

Yeah, I've noticed my small scrawny human neck sticks out. I'll definitely look into adding a small neck guard or something that at least looks like it offers protection.

A thicker neck would help for appearances, but if I hide it like Demic suggested, it won't be a problem.

I may add some iconography, but nothing too ornate.

Henrik Pilerud finished the first version of his costume in four months and continued to add on to it over eight months later. His final version is a Sternguard/Vanguard complete with veteran studs, Power Fist, and Bolt Pistol. He helped me a lot with advice and tips while I was building my costume.

Later down the road, I plan to do variations such as Devastator or Assault Marine, but that's long term.

One of these days, I'll have someone record me walking in this suit.
