Yeah, minus the cultists.
I think your list would benefit from melta somewhere... maybe the bikes?

Drop the regular marines for another PM squad in a rhino, and loose the cultist spending the points on anything else you like.

Drop the CSM squad, and the cultists.
Replace with - PM squad in rhino
- another Obliterator
You'll still have points leftover for another bike or PM, plus some points left for upgrades ( such as melta bombs and/ or Blight Grenades for the bikes.)
Hope this helps.

You need melta on bikes just in case of a landraider.
other than that its a good list, definatly competitive but obviously I prefer a different heavy support (havoc) but Obliterator works fine too with MON.

They are there for only one reason. Capturing a deployment zone objective, hopefully coming in on round 3 or 4.

No way, keep the CSM. 14 bodies can be ridiculously useful. Plus that much bolter pressure is great to force armour saves, something plagues struggle with.
And a handy blob of cultists late-game is totally worth a couple of points, objectives win games.
I do agree about maybe wanting a little melta instead of one of the plasma kits, though. Maybe on the bikes, maybe on one set of PM. Probably not on the CSM, 'cause they don't want to get near most heavy armour due to heavy guns. Use the 10pts you save from the swap for GoM on the Lord, maybe?
Looks damn solid, sirrah!

Yea, drop the cultists, buff up your PM squads or your CSM squad.
The problem is that you will be facing a lot of wave serpents that will just ignore any cover your cultists are in and blow them off the table. You can't just plan on hiding them anymore. Their bad leadership means you cannot rely upon them. If only there was a way to make them fearless, SNP and have FNP......

With a tax of 230 points.... Typhus isn't that great...

Really??
Ok, lets look at why Typhus is good
* Terminator Armor
* FNP
* STR 6 AP2 Daemon weapon
* Level 2 psyker.
* 4 wounds
* T5
Typhus would take the lunch money of his current lord every day of the week, and twice on Sunday. Stick him with the CSM squad and you just made them fearless to boot.
Typhus has one disadvantage that keeps him from being a 'top dog' IC like Abbadon -- he does not have EW. So Typhus can be punked out by STR 10 weapons.
In summary Typhus is good. Hes not 'OMFG AWESOME'. He's good. On a scale of 1 to 10 hes a 7. Saying 'Typhus isn't that great' is an injustice.

I would say drop the marine squad. get another unit of plagues with meltas and a rhino. if youre gonna have cultists use the extra points to up the numbers to 20+ to come in as reserves and capture back field stuff.
Also a minor thing. You can have 2 units of 1 oblit and a unit of 2. Will stop the other running away if one gets killed.

I'm trying out the marine squad, I think they'll do a pretty good job. 14 of them can pack a punch,

Only change I would make is give the Bikes Meltas rather than Plasma, which you have more than enough of already. Despite what others say, the reserving Cultists are a good take for more objectives; 3 Troops isn't enough IMO.

I agree with the melta on the bikes
I do not know why everyone hates the cultists so much, they are a cheap objective capturing unit, they go to ground and get an incredible save, I think they are a great squad for what they do. I do like plaguemarines over CSM but think the list looks good another option for your lord is run him with a 5 man Spawn squad MON vs the bikes, they will be fast no dangerous terrain checks as they are beasts and hella wounds and toughness. I have personally found them more effective except that they do not have range weapons.
I like to put a sorcerer NO Mark on bike with the spawn and lord squad to try to get some nice biomancy buffs for them, sometimes give him the flamer weapon too for some nice shooty attacks prior to charge..
