Well is pretty much in the subject line. I think it is, it seems to be one of the most powerfull special rules there is. Re-rolling 1s on hits and wounds seems a bit much to me... Maybe it's just because I've seen it used to great effect against me What do you guys think?

Its always nice to see the rules reflect the fluff to some degree. Preferred enemy does give a bit of an edge, but I haven't really seen it be a deciding factor in a game.

Its not re-roll all misses so its not too bad really. Just 1s rolls ranged and CC. If it was all misses/wounds then it would easily be too powerful. Otherwise its just a nice thing to have. Plus i like when it fits the fluff. Example having preferred enemy against one specific army because of ________. Pretty neat to see rules reflect fluff in a small way thats not a huge game changer.

some people just get perferred enemy (everyone!). People get perferred enemy (like Commander Farsight) against orks specifically. So if the rule has a specific one its usually in paranthesis right after it.

Well for BS4 S4 models it only makes the models equivilent to BS & S 4.67 in combat. I would rather them have that then BS5 & S5

BS3 & S3 only go to BS & S of 3.5

With my Necrons, Destroys and Heavy Destroyers have PE(Everything). For both, the rerolling of 1's to hit make it 1 step weaker than twin linked since 2's will stay as misses. As for wounding, normal Destroyers are S5 so PE helps; however, it becomes extremely potent for Heavy Destroyers which are S9. PE makes Heavy Destroyers extremely precise.

Is it overpowered? In my opinion - no. There's a number of other abilities, powers, and rules that give Twin Linking, Master Crafted, or the ability to do rerolls of misses and wounds in general. It IS a very good special rule but I wouldn't call it over powered. Destroyers are the only models I'm aware of with PE(Everything); however, are all 1 wound models. Other PE's that I've seen are all more specific and thus situational.

I feel its overpowered when given to one entire army when facing another (grey knights versus Daemons). Throw in force weapons and its even worse. Why don't Daemons get something back against Grey Knights? It seems to have such a huge advantage in that situation.

I don't mind it for some units like elites or characters it makes sense.

While not directly against them, Fiends work well against grey knights, nothing like a -3 to your LD for psykers.

Space Wolves have a model that gives PE for one unit type to whatever squad he's in.

In 5th ed you got to reroll ALL to-hits... not sure which version is better but I seemed to have more success with it in 5th. I can roll 1's better than anyone in the game, except in this instance where I could reroll it.

North of your position

I think that killstreaks are more OP.

As a Daemon player I don't really mind the army-wide PE that much as it is a cool way to represent the background behind GK vs DoC games.
Mind you, I don't think psybolts should have been +1S as it's silly how non-psykers/daemons now get ripped apart by that kind of specialist wargear... A more fluffy benefit might have been to make it +1pt/model and allow those weapons to always wound psykers/daemons on a 4+ at worst.

Overall though, it's still a small complaint when compared to the bigger issues like Daemonbane or rad/psycho grenades, Dark Ex, Truesilver armour, Stern, etc... or the Warp Quake dickery of 5th edition.

It's so good they had to take it away from the Black Templar to keep them repressed.

Help Help im being Repressed! The Orks are just upset they got outcharged! However, re-roll 1's to hit AND wounds! It's awesome yes but not OP

You know you're a Black Templar when...
...you refuse to ask a real life Librarian for help.

...Your friends wont invite you to any more magic shows after what happened.

...You don't care that it was a childrens' show, they should all know better anyway.

Well on tyranids the units that have it as a payed upgrade are already very points heavy models. So while it is a very strong special rule, it also tends to be very expensive also.

No.

A bit to late for a poll now... This was just to get the general feeling. I have seen the math and understand it better now. I guess it seems a bit OP when enemy is geting lots of re-rolls from it and hiting with said re-rolls. It was a matter of prespective for me, stuff you dont/cant have allways seems better than what you have...

Sounds like you just had an opponent that cheated, rather than experiencing an overpowered rule...

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...
