hey Dakka Dakka!
in honour of my newly established painting co...me(head painter/V.P.) and the president have decide to start up an army to show off our skills.
we choose space marines cause we have them just laying around in our closets doing nothing. we are calling them the black core chapter.
here is a test scheme. i thought for fluff they are arch rival with the night lords. which is why there is lighting on the gun.(will be on right shoulder pad also)
hope you guys like it!

The scheme looks very nice, I would personally have the lightning a different colour to the laurel.

The highlighting of the laurel and black armour is fantastic, a lot of people find difficulty doing this including myself unless I really put my mind to it.

There seems to be a mold line on the frag grenade.

What made you decide on the Chapter name Black Core? It doesn't sound great to be honest.

we named them that cause our company name is black core customs.
if you have any ideas for names i would love to hear them. it was just the first thing that popped into my head and it made sense.

Valid point....This was only a test scheme so it's not our highest quality. The actually army will be better and will keep posting updates for you guys. And when we get to the HQ's they will be extremly extravagant. And we will be allying some other armies to get more color.

I'd personally go for 'Brothers of the Black Stars', maybe one of the chapters assigned to defend the Ghoul Stars? ;D

Alien Region. ITs terrible. Alien races all over the place. Very little Imperials. I like that area as well and use it for my lore as well. Its quite devoid of imperials and it has alot of weird alien empires, exodites and supernatural inhabitants.
If you want any lore on that region. I am kind of an expert on the Ghoul Stars. Of course it is the most underplayed region in the entire imperium.

It's well painted, but I'm left wondering what other colors/metallics you'll be using for details. I like the green, which pops well against the black, but I feel like there needs to be another accent color to keep the green from getting over-used.

Looks great mate! I can't wait to see more.

It's good so far, but it's unfinished, especially for a display piece. It looks very...black with gray highlights, sans any other color(outside of the gun). I'd put some silver in there, and paint the eyes something brighter as a showpiece. If it is already there, it may just be too washed out from a wash to distinguish.

You should make them a traitor legion. I am sorry, Chaos rules. We all know when the truth comes out the Emperor of Mankind is going to be Khorne's love child, just saying. Cool idea I like the Black Star Astartes, it does flow easier.
