Hey all... Thanks so much! Really great to see the comments! Its keeping me going.... as unfortunately i am getting barely any time to get any serious time into this project.

But moaning and complaining aside..... i have got a bit of work on the Vulcan turret done.... Needs some rivets and ofcourse the actual guns themselves and i think its nearly done!

Cheers guys and thanks for the patience!

Hey all..... some painfuly slow progress again.... the forge furnaces are not smelting fast enough!!

Think i need a little bit of advice...... just not 100% about the length of the Vulcan barrels.... whats the impression? Maybe a little bit too long? With the barrels and internal structure still to ba added it dont want them looking to long....

But happy with the look of the details overall!

Cheers all!

Maybe a little bit long. It's not by much, but I am imagining the barrels sticking out and the contours of the vehicle. Just seems maybe a bit long. Looking brilliant though.

Hey guys! Finally..... Managed to get some time on the tank and have now finished (excluding the main guns in the post)

Thanks again for all the comments! Its awesome!

On final reflection.. apart from the vulcan barrels i think the second turret is looking good proportionally! was worried it was a little long... but this is a fearsome weapon so i thought a little outsizing is ok....

Cheers Guys!

Cheers Mate! Meant to add this to my previous post..... Your right about the barrels being a little too long but in this case i think its going to be fine! I will just aim to mount the vulcan turret slightly firther back than the original and it hink it should be fine!

Cheers again!!

Ok..... so modeling aside, I am now really close to getting some paint on this bad boy! Being my first model / build and first paint job since i used to slop paint on my old Messerschmitt's about 15 years ago i want to have a little bit of an idea where i want it to go.......

Heres my initial Plan....... (possibly mentioned previously but in the forefront of my mind now)

I want to have a campaign beaten and bruised tank so for the primer coat i am going to use a couple of base primer sprays........ perhaps an oxide red/orange and a lighter orange.........

(Seal at this stage with a mat varnish!??!!?)

Next... add a layer of Salt weathering (been doing my research on the site here and youtube) with a mix of table salt and rock salt......

Over the top of this a coat of Panzer Grey Spray and then add the Camo pattern etc.

Remove the Salt weathering and add any scratches, dents etc......

(Seal Again)

Add decals (weathered) and then add some dirt and oil (marmite) to finnish off......

(Final Seal)

Job is a good one!!

Anyone spot any glaring errors or points i might be able to improve on??

Cheers Guys!

Hey Viktor! Thanks for looking in! And thanks for the comments really appreciate it!

Yes i must say i am finding myself drawn towards the larger units also! Was planning on either a Centaur or Malcador for my next build..... but really think the Crassus is a fantastic looking model!

Not going to get too far ahead of myself...... got the paintwork on the Mach to do first! .......

Thanks again!

One little correction on the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT, is that's how you announce it.

It's very important you don't forget that, and if you wonder what I'm going on about, search the "manliest tank" thread, it was probably the most glorious thing on the internet I've ever seen.

Regardless, I'm looking forwards to seeing what other magic you can make from plasticard.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

Hi Viktor,

Yes that is the plan!

I want to try and take little steps forward on each model so the next step will be internals and even a little hinge system for the rear door.... i hope!

I am thinking a couple of diferent sized plastruct hollow sections to allow the hinge?! Only time will tell!

Cheers Again,

Hey All,

Got my first look at the "Big C" tonight.... Managed to get the most of the hull laid out and glued...... Images are shown with the Mach tracks to get an idea of the scale....... think its an awesome model and great looking piece of kit.... just hoping do it justice...

Been working more on the 3d model to help me out with the internal planning and also.... went through my bits bag and pulled out a few pieces that may form part of a 3rd model......

Land Raider Upper Front Hull with a Vindicator Roof and Land Raider Engine Section....... VERY early stages... but am thinking along the lines of a Rhino/fast attack carrier.........

Let me know what you think..........

The Mach has NOT been forgotten........
