So I visited the local wargames shop in town with my girlfriend and she found it neat and wanted to try painting miniatures.
She didn't fancy the whole cruel war thing in WH40k and the likes, so what minis are there out there that would be more
of a cute and funny nature for a girl to paint?
Cheers!

Brushfire Rodentia.
Super Dungeon Explore.
Something along those lines would be perfect, find out what her favourite furry critter is and get the appropriate brushfire mini.
Or if there's some TV she likes, see if you can get a mini of that, I once picked up and painted a dr. who and amy as a gift for a girlfriend, unfortunately got dumped about a week before I could give it to her. :(

Brushfire is cool if your looking for a game with miniatures, if your just looking for stuff to paint then there are a few companies that sell cutesie type stuff, I can't remember them off the top of my head but cool mini or not has some in their store.

Thanks for a lot of great suggestions, the Dark Sword anthropomorphic minis were a great hit, I think that will be something to go for. Also Ammon minis had such great figures like Norbit
I feel like I could paint this awesome guy myself!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Does anyone know what scale these models are in, and are there comparison pictures somewhere? I couldn't find much info on that..

If you click the "more info" option next to the "add" button, it describes Norbit as 35mm tall and made to 32mm scale in resin.

Generic fantasy figures can be had from Reaper - their new bones line is about to explode once they finish shipping their kickstarter pledges. Good quality models at a good price.

I'd recommend bones. Cheap, no modelling experience required, and tons of options. Ehh on things like sodapop though. The super dungeon explore minis are great, but a lot of their stuff can get kind of pandering. Infinity and Anima are pretty good but she might be a bit intimidated painting those super detailed, super tiny miniatures.

My girlfriend would A. Hate to be called a lady, and B. loves the looks of Warhammer but NOT Warhammer 40k. She likes the Skaven and Lizardmen a lot. She thought she would like the Elves, but really doesn't enjoy painting them. She enjoys painting in general, so it was easy for her to get interested once we started getting paints.

My girlfriend likes, infinity, the new matic guys with wings and surprisingly slanesh demons.

I add my vote for Reaper and Dark Sword. The sheer number of miniatures that Reaper makes me feel that if she doesn't find something to her liking there, she won't find anything at all.
Dark Sword has some of the best sculpts I've ever seen for the scale.

Reaper makes those silly mice adventurers and a nativity set too. They also make several versions of their winged mascot Sophie.

My girlfriend really wants to paint up some Kingdom Death: Monster pin-up chicks. Unfortunately I missed the kickstarters so I'm waiting until they restock the minis..... (going to be a long wait).

I've showed here a bit of this and that, but her start of painting is a bit down the road (like a month at least), so its not too much of a hurry yet.
Have to check out Mantic Kings though

Super Dungeon Explore is really cute. And, scarletsquig if you need to unload that Dr. Who and Amy, talk to me.

Oh sh....
No, I'm suggesting Lord of the Rings is very unisex. Sure, it's full of manly badasses like Theoden, Easterlings and War Mumaks. But there's also Legolas
