So I was reading eIrusk and noticed martial discipline, the thing that allows you to draw LOS through your own living warrior models and charge and so forth. Now I hear great things abut Nyss hunters, being great for lists and so forth. If I put the ranking officer in that unit do they benefit from martial discipline?

Yep perfectly legal as they class as faction as long as Valachev (the ranking officer) is attached therefore they benefit from martial discipline and his feat.

Yep definitely correct that is exactly what the ranking officer rule is there for.
Ranking Officer
This model is a ranking officer. While the model is in play, models in its unit are Khador models instead of Mercenary models
He can be attached to any small or medium based mercenary unit which Nyss hunters are. When attached the ranking officer rule kicks in and they are classed as Khador models. This means they are friendly faction for all game rules that require it. Martial discipline works on friendly faction therefore it works on Nyss with Valachev attached as they class as Khador models and therefore are a part of the faction for as long as Valachev is alive.

Just what does your friend field that he feels that you using a model in your army makes you TFG?
It's a perfectly good and legal tactic. You're paying 12 points for an eleven model unit. That's not exactly cheap. And all it takes is for him to kill Valachev and you can't use Martial Discipline. If he kills Cylena then you're out CRAs. Just like any other combo, it can be countered.

Perfectly legal but pretty slow. It's an ok combo but all the stuff you can pull with Zepher abd Nyss is much more annoying.

If he thinks that is TFG then he's in for a rude awakening with eIrusk's fastball special. Just lob a Drakhun or Fenris at his caster. Pop feat, then charge with said guy that was just thrown.

Before I get in too deep, I'll correct myself. It only works with Fenris in the above example as the Drakhun is immune to KD! Doh! not used eIrusk (or my Khador) in a while.
You could also load up a Jack with focus (don't bond it to eIrusk as it won't work). for the same results. A Devastator or Demolisher is great for this as when they're thrown they will take practically zero damage due to ARM25.

Yes to both.
You can charge and kill your own models too. I presume you've just come over from 40k. It takes a little while to shake the GW way of doing things (as is noted by many of my own rules questions in this very forum ) but it will all click eventually.

Just hope that you don't roll box cars on the damage roll
But I might suggest if your friend is a bit touchy about how rules 'should' work, probably explain to him how it's going to work before hand (but you don't have to say you'll be doing it with Fenris ). Show him the last line of the second paragraph of P64 of prime (the clause that allows this combo to work), and let him know that the feat means you can throw stuff and have it knocked down, feat and then have it stand up without penalty.
But yeah, power attacking your own guys is a time honored tradition in Warmahordes - slam your jack over their caster to knock them down, have a jack pick up a trooper or another jack and use him as throw ammo, use Push to push a Jack or your caster that extra inch forward that your opponent wasn't expecting. Lots of fun

I think your friend may find Warmarchine a bit of a shocker as tactics like this are not only par for the course but actually demanded.
Its all about the crazy things you can pull out of your hat. Remember, everything is broken and OP.

The WG deathstar isn't really a tactic, its a list choice. Tactics would be running a WGDS in front of Alexia and her Risen.

Remember that Energize only affects warjacks in Irusk's battlegroup. Unless you are planning on getting the warjack out of dodge after it tossed a pissed off horse dude at something.
And stuff.

That's why you get a Conquest to lob a Devastator/Demolisher. With that roll the most it will do is 5 points of damage.

Ideally, you'll need something with 2 open fists (so a Kodiak, Devastator, Demolisher, Conquest or Behemoth) as with a 2-handed throw you can actually aim the thrown model at the caster as if it was a ranged attack.

Wow, I never thought about this before. Not having immunity to knockdown is in this circumstance better! And what a sneaky way to bypass the rule that stops you from throwing your own stuff to get the extra movement (immune to knockdown makes you lose movement or activation).

Isn't this illegal?
Models knocked down in your own turn must forfit action or movement even they are immune to knockdown right?

I just didn't think it was legal with or without.
If it is legal to stand stuff up in your own turn without penalty would the below work too?
3 slayers throw 3 slayers (1 each total 6) at a warcaster. Then Mortenebra uses jump start those slayers can all move in their activations?
Ignore this, it actually says you can't in jump starts own description
