Hey everyone, I'm running a Tau Allies Detachment for my Chaos force and was wondering if there were any alternative chaos battlesuits out there. I'm looking for crisis and and a commander, maybe some broadsides. If anyone has any ideas or links, that would be great.

But honestly I haven't found a single things on chaos battlesuits. None!

I'm thinking about converting my suits that i do have, but honestly I don't know what I'm even aiming for... Anyone have any concept art for suits or some inspiration? I'd love to hear from you guys

I've always wondered why this hasn't happened more often.

Especially in using some Kroots with the orkmeat upgrades. , Or a chaos spawn battlesuit upgrade.

Fluffwise, if Obliterators and Mutilators are mutated Terminators (at least, that's always been my theory), then perhaps something Chaosy can mutate until it becomes a counts-as Crisis suit? Raptors and Warp Talons would be the obvious starting point, bulked up to Crisis proportions. Although perhaps other Terminators are 'blessed' with wing/flying mutations, with similar results?

That's because they are rarer than Chaos Grey Knights and female Space Marines.
Chaos Tau are usually just a void thread of people wanting an army beating established fluff straight in the face. And then they decide it is not worth the money.

By the background, Tau barely register in the warp so are not terribly easy targets compared to humans. Also the Tau aesthetic and modus operandi don't fit well with the MOAR SPIKES MUST PUNCH IN FACE route that chaos armies tend to go down

So if possession is unlikely you need to ask yourself if the Tau are actually part of the cult/warband, or if they are simply normal Tau with a common goal or have been duped into assisting without kbowing what actually drives the chaos force.

Or you could whomp up some possessed battlesuits with gribbly bits and tentacles in a similar way to the hellbrute.
