strategy is this: turn 1 deploy ravenwing, mortis dreads, and tac squad rhinos. deathwing and HQ blob stays in reserves.
Deathwing comes in turn 1 guided by ravenwing to hold midfield as rhinos move into place within 12" of eachother. empty mortis drop pod drops directly midfield
mortis dreads are swatting down as many flies as possible while the ravenwing element rushes forward to take out any high armor targets.
turn 2 (and on) keep rolling for reserves until the command squad comes in, drops down dead center between the two using the locator beacon for precise deepstrike.
tac squads jump out to be within 6" of the bolter banner, librarian casts presience on the two tac squads. Tac squads weigh down anything they can with massed bolter fire.
deathwing squad runs around like a badass deathstar until the game is over

If i recall, you can only cast the same power one time, also I would free up some points to add TH/SS on the termies so they can survive(they dont benefit from the dakka banner).

you are indeed correct about the psychic powers, so i will amend that in my strategy, the TH/SS termies is going to sadly take away form my dakka effect that i'm going for. that being said, it DOES make my deathwing squad the prime candidate of prescience

Also id drop the drop pod from the dreads(which I dont allow even in a friendly game because most tournaments dont)you could use the bikes as a beacon. Id add one TH/SS to the Terminators(leave him in the front so they rest dont get LC'ed or plasma-ed to death.Also if you want the libby in with the termies i would suggest termie armor for them so they can deep strike together, drop the assault cannons and add missle launchers with the points from the drop pod and libby transition

As Jpat1213 said.....you cannot benefit from the BoD using DW or Storm Bolters at ALL. I know it sucks but that is the way the FAQ has ruled it :(

Thanks for the tip, but I realize this already. I wasn't planning on having my DW benefit from the bolter banner, never implied it, I was talking about prescience the psychic power. I've already felt the sting of the FAQ in that I have only one legit terminator sergeant (had lightning claw and th/ss/CML termi sergeants)

Why don't you allow drop pods and dreads in games? It is a dedicated transport.

Yeah I like it although you are going to have a lot of units in reserves, so there's a chance you could get tabled before they arrive. Make sure somethings not in the open so if everything goes wrong, you won't get tabled.

what's the point of the drop pod with locator beacon? you'll have six of them running around for the deathwing, and a turn 1 drop will attract a lot of fire to keep the pod from ever getting to work.

Simply put- Flexibility. If I want to outflank my ravenwing, I'm not going to gut my deeptriking accuracy. Drop an empty pod turn 1 that serves as a rally point for my forces. Have deathwing deepstrike on turn 2 focused on the drop pod. With the drop pod as the rally point I can use it to core donate a drop of my command squad with the bolter banner surrounded by my two tac squads. I can pull this off with pinpoint accuracy.

Also, if my opponent knows that my drop pod is a lynchpin of my strategy, then he will focus fire on it until its gone. Less firepower going against the rest of my army.
