As I do, when every book comes out and I grab it, I try to Theoryhammer myself a list of something I would personally like to play after reading the fluff and finding what units I like the best (A Throgg and Festus WoC army for example..) I have done the same with Lizardmen, but since they are an army I never played or never played against in the past in my small local scene, I didn't have a clue what to do! So I just went through and did what I could!

Any feedback in any direction would be appreciated!

Why no Harmonic Convergence on the Slaan surely that's the only reason to take the channeling staff?

Points are off on the Cude Skink.

Skink cohorts are poor I'd drop them. 28 is a weird number for the Saurus I'd consider chucking Gor ROK in there to make them stubborn and a little more aggressive.

Extra Skinks aren't needed on the Salamanders.

Sorry! There was meant to be Harmonic but copying it over from Army Builder it didn't keep right! I also changed the price on the Skink with Cube, I missed 5 points off him.

Ohh, I thought "Skrox" units were all the rage in the previous edition? I hadn't thought much had changed in that respect.

It's only at 28 because I was looking to fill points!

I took the extra skink, simply so that one bad failed "Misfire" doesn't mean I am without ALL the skinks.

Skrox units were terrible in the Old book and you're right not much has changed. They've got marginally better but they're still the worst core choice in the book.

Hmmm..So dump the Skrox and then add Gor-Rok for the Saurus warriors for added oomph?

I would go with Flingit's suggestions.

You could even get an extra couple of sallies in there.

How is this with changes then, dropped the Skrox, added Gor-Rok, more Saurus and evened out the Terradons.

Looks much better IMHO.

One last thing i would consider is dropping the Scroll skink preist. give the scroll to the slann.

Doing this frees up enough points to take a 3rd sallie.

Can I do that though? Or is that something which is wrong with my Army Builder?

I try to add another Salamander Hunting Pack and I get an error saying they are a "0-2" choice in the Army Book.
Also, I can't give the scroll to the Slann since he has the Channeling Staff!

Your army builder must be wrong.

sallies are rare, so you can have a max of 3 entries the same.

Forgot about the channeling staff. hmmmmm.

I'd consider pushing the Salamanders into 1 unit. Dropping the 4th Terradon from each unit would also free up the points for a 3rd Salamander. Or do that and drop a Saurus and Temple Guard and get an Egg Bomb Ripperchief.

But over all it is looking much stronger now.

Army builder was moaning about the sallies, not the staff, that was my oversight.

Ah reading fail.

Its probably meaning the restriction on 2 duplicate units for rare at less than 3k. But you can have lots of Salamanders in 1 unit.

I like the list, but I fear the Skink units may die too easily. 10 melt in CC and die immediately to any ranged weaponry. Maybe make them a unit of 20?

A valid point, however i feel it matters because frankly if i was playing with that list and my opponent was busy killing 10 skinks he isn't shooting at my 40 saurus or my 30+ TG or even my sallies.

Yeah the Skinks don't want to be in CC unless they are suiciding to redirect. You don't care if someone is shooting at them. There's no real reason to take them in bigger units.

Yes technically now you can have an unlimited number of sallies in one pack as the entry says 1+.

It's not taking the Michael if you wanted 10 Salamanders in a unit go ahead. But that's an 800point unit that can't stand and shoot. 2-5 seems to be the best bet. 1 doesn't really do enough.

May I ask why take the fire leeches instead of javs? You really dont have anything to kill warmachines...It depends on your meta, and you dont have any monsters so you dont necessarily need to take them out turn 1...

The fire Bolas on the Terradons? Just because really..It's a pip of strength higher and they sounded cool! =D

And less range and no poison. I'm not paying more points for that.

Hmmm....I think I will edit that then..

The best part of the Javelins is that it is Strength = User.
If you wildform on them you're getting S4 shots.
